Happy Monday. Can I just say how excited I am for this short week. I have some PTO days stocked up that I have to use before the end of the year or I lose them. So, since I never seem to take vacations…..I have a lot of “personal” days going to be taken between now and New Years. I thought I would start my holiday week a little early, like after Tuesday early. I really need a break let me tell y’all. This past weekend was a nice relaxing one at home before the craziness of the holidays are going to start. Let’s do some quick recapping with B.
I was off on Friday (see above) so I took some time to run over to my favorite gal to get a little trim and highlight touch up. Then I headed into my office to pack it up, something that I have been dreading and avoiding all week. We upgraded to a bigger office space and I had to move my 9 years worth of belongings over to that one. It was a production that involved some bleeding as I dropped a frame on my shin but all in all, it’s finally done!
Saturday we headed over to the Bourbon and Brew Fest. I will tell you, usually I don’t love these events. They tend to super oversell them and it’s overcrowded. Or, you pay a high admittance fee and then still have to pay when you get in there. Well, this event was perfect. It wasn’t too crowded and once you were in; everything was taken care of. I don’t drink Bourbon or any brown liquor for that matter but Mark definitely enjoyed himself and had no problem being my blog reporter for the night. The VIP tickets included drinks and food by 4 Rivers Smokehouse which was excellent. I was overall very pleased with the well run event right down by the Hillsborough River. The rain held out just long enough to enjoy the event.
Also, the vendors did not mess around. We got some really nice dry fit tshirts, sunglasses, glasses, bags, etc etc. Mark had actually been to the Bulleit Bouron tour when he was in Kentucky and wanted to get one of the shirts. He held off (limited closet space remember?) but they were handing out the exact ones he wanted. Day made.
We then took an Uber over to the hockey game to see the Lightning win 5-0. It was such a fun game!
I know everyone gets all jazzed up about Black Friday sales but y’all they have already started. Nordstrom has incredible sales right now. Check out this Tory Burch York Tote or the riding boots on major sale. This cosmetic case would be a really great present to someone where you want to give them a nice gift but it doesn’t break the bank. I love my Dolce Vita booties and this pair is less than $80! I just bought these leopard smoking flats and have been wearing them non stop. I bought this NEST mini candle and it is powerful enough to deliver fragrance throughout our entire house. Plus, it lasts forever. Also, there are a ton of Vince shoes marked down to half off. I’ve also had my eye on this crossbody forever and it’s 40% off now. Things are selling out crazy fast just to let you know! Last, these heels. Insane and half off.
The rest of the weekend I was hunkered down, finishing grading papers and scoured the black hole of Holiday sales for you. Trust me. You will want to check back this entire week for everything I found for you. Plus, there is a top secret sale that is going live tomorrow. You don’t want to miss out on it! Make sure you come back tomorrow for all my picks of it!

What a fun event!!

Your weekend looked like a bunch of fun from all of the snaps! The bourbon tasting looked really cool!
Caroline @ Windy City Chic says
Great pictures from that event! I love your plaid shirt. I want that Nest candle and those leopard flats!! SO cute. I was just at Nordstrom on Friday with my mom and yes they were having some pretty good sales. Sadly because I had to make it to an appointment, I was unable to spend more time there. I’m glad that you had a fun weekend and good for you for taking some time off!! This is definitely the time to do it!!
Paige @ An Uncomplicated Life Blog says
Your employer makes you pack up your own office?! I guess every nonprofit I’ve worked at did… But in corporate America? Man, they do the packing and the moving for you because they’re scared you’ll hurt yourself and file a workers comp claim, haha! I guess that’s not funny. But you get me.
Jaelan @ Making Mrs. M says
Your weekends are always so jam packed full of fun!

So jealous of your extended holiday break this week! I have some time I need to use as well so I think I might take some personal days between now and New Years too! I had VIP tickets to Bourbon and Brew fest but decided not to go. I’m glad the rain held off for you though! And you can never go wrong with 4Rivers! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

I can’t imagine packing up 9 years of stuff! It has to feel good to have that done though. Enjoy your extra days off!!!

Looks like a great weekend! I went to the first Bourbon and Brew Fest and it was my fave “fest” put on by this group. This one always seems to fall too close to other holiday things going and I don’t get to go. I’d have been super happy with 4 Rivers too :)
Kaitlin says
Loving the sales too but the problem is I keep buying stuff for MYSELF and not those on my Christmas lists — oops! Budget blown.
Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis says
The event sounds fun. I don’t drink brown liquor either but I’d definitely enjoy the BBQ from 4Rivers. There’s a 4Rivers right by my office and I don’t eat there often enough. That might change this week. Loving those leopard print flats!
Ashley @ The Wandering Weekenders says
It looks like you had a great weekend, with lots of fun activities! I’ve never been to a hockey game before, but it looks like they’re a blast, especially if your team wins! And I can’t wait for all of the Christmas deals! I’m hoping that I’ll get most of my shopping done by Cyber Monday!

That bourbon and brew fest looks awesome! And who doesn’t love some free swag? :)

I love all of the fests down there! You make Florida living WAY too appealing!!

That sounds like such a great weekend! Bourbon & hockey? Doesn’t get much better.

That bourbon and beer fest looks like it would totally be up my hubby’s alley. He loves both of course (what man doesn’t). And packing that much stuff is WORK. I remember doing that a few times and it’s just too much. I ended up tossing so much stuff; just get it out of my life please.
Rachel says
Sounds like a fun weekend! Can’t wait for the weekend coming up with lots of food and even more sales!

Your hair turned out gorgeous – always such a nice treat to look forward to! Ryan would’ve been in heaven at the bourbon fest, that’s definitely his jam and not mine. The sales that already have started are ridiculous – I’m really exercising some self-control. Thanks for the tip about the credit card sales, though – I had no idea!
Sara says
There’s definitely a Burberry coat I have my eye on, but I’ll be watching for the perfect sale to snag it from!! Thanks for the sale round up!!!
emily @ a little bit of emily says
Love all those sales picks!! I definitely need to check out my card rewards…not something I normally think of! Happy shopping!
Kate @ Green Fashionista says
Such a fun event! And yay for all the sales, I may be in trouble!
Enjoy your much needed time off <3

The Bourbon and Brew Fest sounds like a lot of fun! And the perfect time of year to have it too! Our brew fests here seem to be when it is bordering too hot to be outside drinking beer lol. Awesome that Mark scored the shirt he wanted!!!
Loving all the sales picks. I have scoured black friday ads since they have been released to get game plan for shopping with my mom but I will be checking the internet stuff out too!
Jaclyn says
I have most of my Christmas shopping already done because there have been such awesome sales early this year. Love your picks, it’s so easy to justify buying stuff you don’t need when it’s on sale!
Amanda says
I’m super jealous of your extra long weekend!!!!
I agree with you about overselling events… glad that wasn’t the case with this one!
Marie says
Who doesn’t love a good sale! Thanks to all the early sales, I have started my Christmas shopping. My policy is one gift for you, two for me. Two gifts for you, three for me. hahah. I kid, I kid…ok not really. Looks like it was a fun weekend. I still can’t believe you have a hockey team in Florida. It just seems so weird to me. haha
kristen says
i need all the things. haha. especially the leopard flats. good tip about the credit card deals!
