Re: metering modes – there’s a way to set your camera to “bracket” images on either side of the spectrum. I do this in difficult light situations. I can’t remember if you are a Canon or Nikon user, but if under Canon, you can go to AF Metering, use the ball to select the range (I do -2.0 – 0.) – +2.0) and it will shoot three photos with the varying metering settings. You generally end up with 3 images – underexposed, perfectly exposed, and an overexposed – for the widest range of editing possibilities. If you’re using a remote, it will fire all three shots to minimize camera shake for you. It’s genius!
