Just Wear the Shoes

Alright, I know you all have at least one pair of shoes that you keep in their box, quite possibly with the paper still stuffed inside…..odd plastic sticks and all.  You may even have them inside of their dust covers, neatly folded in the box.  You stare at them longingly and think to yourself, “they are just so pretty!  I don’t want to mess them up“.  I have a few pairs like that.  Then I think to myself, “well Amanda why did you even buy them if they aren’t going to see the light of day?”  Well you know what?  I busted out one of my favorite pairs of “special” shoes and I realized that these babies are not meant to be housed.  They are meant to be strutted around.

Louboutin Apostrophy pumps LBD Helmut LangHelmut Lang Black DressLouis Vuitton Pochette MeisLoubs and LVLouboutin Apostrophy pumps, just wear the shoesFind the apostrophy Louboutins here (they sell out quickly, if you find your size snag them!) On sale here (cannot believe the price of them!) I am lusting over this pair || mid range nude versions here here and here || save version and so comfortable here || under $50 here. Bracelets David Yurman here here and here.  Watch is old Michael Kors similar here.  Sunglasses Kate Spade in love!  Find them here.

All of these beauties are on sale!  Have my eye on this pair.  Crazy price on these black classics.
These are actually super comfortable and lets talk about nude heels and what they do for elongating those legs right?  I am in love with the slight peek though of the red on the side of the apostrophy pumps.  Louboutins real extremely small!  I am a size 9 (or 39) regular and I had to size completely up to a 40, y’all know I give you all the details.

I am always drawn to dresses with sleeves for when the temps cool down, plus I feel like it is more appropriate to have shoulders covered during dinner.  Is that totally old fashioned of me?  I am so in love with this Helmut Lang dress it seriously makes me feel confident and sexy dare I say?Black Helmut Lang DressHelmut Lang LBDBlack Helmut Lang and LVI got it super on sale at Bloomingdale’s.  It is sold out but here are some great similar finds here and here || mid range here and here || save version here and here under $25 here.

For all of you who were asking what was in my shopping bag from the Charleston girls trip it was this little number.  Louis Vuitton Pochette MetisI have been wearing it on such repeat.  I love the long luggage strap to make it a cross body, you can shorten the strap and make it a should purse, or just grab it by the handle as a clutch.  I mean it’s a 3 in 1 bag.  Totally justifiable right?  Side note.  Have any of you shopped on theRealReal before?  They are linked to Neimans.  I am intrigued especially with their coupon code sales.

Here is my public service announcement.  Take those beauties out of the box and just wear the shoes!  Tag them on instagram at #justweartheshoes I can’t wait to see what beauties y’all have stowed away!

I think it’s pretty safe to say that I’ll never own a pair of these. “Sale” or no sale, I can’t spend that much on a pair of shoes, especially since I’m not a huge fan of wearing heels. I’ll enjoy looking at them from afar on my pretty friends :)

Love love love the shoes! My husband got me a pair when we were in Vegas in May and same thing, they sat in the shopping bag, in their box, in their dust covers, in my closet until I broke them out for a wedding a couple of weeks ago. And now I want to wear them every day! =) I got the patent black slingbacks and can’t wait to wear them more this fall. Keep rocking yours…as if your legs couldn’t look any longer, these babies make them look fab!

Loving those shoes! My husband bought me a pair when we were in Vegas in May and just like you say they sat in the original shopping bag in the box in the dust covers in my closet until I broke them out for a wedding a couple weeks ago – and now I want to wear them everyday! I got the black patent slingbacks, but my next pair will be a nude one similar to the ones you have. Especially when I see just how great they make your legs look…I didn’t think they could look any longer, but they do! =)

Maybe I’ll treat myself to designer pumps once my husband graduates and gets a job ?. Believe it or not, I’m not the shoe junkie in this house – he is. He has several pairs of high end men’s dress shoes… But he wears them, so… at least there’s that. Haha

Love the look, dear! You look fabulous.

This whole outfit is perfection! When I finally get my hands on my own pair of Loubies, they will definitely be a classic pair in black or nude so they never go out of style. And then I’ll probably be one of the ones that keeps them in their dust covers in the box and afraid to wear them :-P

Ok, I’m kind of obsessed with these shoes. At first they look all nude and then BAM! Color! I love it. Not that I need another pair of heels, but I think I kind of need these…

  7. September 15, 2015 / 8:23 AM

Love the look head to toe! :)

  8. September 15, 2015 / 8:38 AM

I have these on my 30 before 30 list to buy for myself!! I adore them and think they deserve to worn especially since you can get the red soles repaired if needed!! I’ll go with the nude like yours or black since those colors go with everything! :)

These are so out of my price range, but I LOVE nude shoes! They look awesome on you. I really love that dress on you too. You seriously have the best legs! I need to find a workout that I like, I’m really having trouble getting motivated lately. Xo

Sexy lady! Looking great! Nothing is better than nude pumps, especially Louboutins. I don’t have any in my near future but your talking about how to bust out your favorite pair really resonated. I have so many clothes that I only save for special occasions and then never wear. A good reminder to enjoy life!

Oh girl, I have about 5 pairs of shoes that are “in the box” now that I stay home! It’s so true though, what are we waiting for? Well, I’m currently waiting to NOT be pregnant so I don’t fall over in them, but still! Lol. Great post, and it applies to so much more than shoes (I carry my designer purses everywhere and wipe off baby goo) – your china, your shoes, your nice clothes, your attitude, everything!

  13. September 15, 2015 / 9:18 AM

I agree with you!! Wear the shoes and use the bag!! Life is too short!! :-) You look gorgeous and those shoes… sigh. You also know that I’m all about high quality bags and shoes! :-)

  14. September 15, 2015 / 9:34 AM

Love that outfit! I wore one of my fancy pairs of shoes at a wedding last weekend- I half regret it because they need cleaned, but I loved showing them off!

  15. September 15, 2015 / 9:39 AM

I just cannot spend that kind of money on shoes. i’m just too cheap! although my cheap shoes did break the other day haha. but honestly I cannot wear heels. i’m so lame.

  16. September 15, 2015 / 9:46 AM

If I ever get a pair of Loubs, you will not be able to get them off my feet! Those babies are meant to see the world! ;) Looking good lady!

  17. September 15, 2015 / 10:02 AM

Oh yes, definitely meant to be strutted! Classic perfection from head to toe and beyond perfection beauty in YOU!! ;-)

I am in love with the shoes! I think I NEED a pair! I realize this may be a subjective statement but its true! The dress is perfect too for transitioning into cooler weather. It is the perfect date night outfit!

I love this post! You are so right, why have them if you don’t wear them! My husband is always telling me that for my Chanel bag, so I am trying to carry it more. Love the Louboutins…I’m trying to decide which style I want. I love the shape of the So Kate, but I’m afraid they are too high! The Pigalle seems more manageable, but I don’t know if I like the cut of the toe. Decisions, decisions…haha!

  21. September 15, 2015 / 11:14 AM

Oh I definitely have a few pairs like this. Not because they are the most expensive though, but because they are so dang fancy! And this SAHM ain’t got no where to wear them! Maybe my hubby will take me on a fancy date night some time so I can justify breaking them out. Those shoes are HOT though. Love them.

  22. September 15, 2015 / 11:19 AM

Love those shoes, lady! I have them on my list for a one day buy. I wear my wedding shoes more now too, because #justweartheshoes.

  23. September 15, 2015 / 12:59 PM

I am so jealous of some of the shoes and accessories that you own – get it, girl!

  24. September 15, 2015 / 1:01 PM

I totally agree. There is nothing worse than “saving something for good” and then 2 years later realizing you never even wore it once! And I have a slight nude heel obsession but most of mine are Nine West and not Louboutin … love them… so super sexy! You look gorgeous as always!

glad you got them out of the closet and wore them (good idea to take pics of the soles tho!) LOVEEEE your LV bag. it’s so classic and pretty. xo jillian – cornflake dreams

  26. September 15, 2015 / 1:40 PM

Not sure which I’d rather have more… Those shoes or your legs (seriously). Dying for a pair of Loubs though!!! I want a comfy nude pair!

  27. September 15, 2015 / 1:46 PM

You are so right, just wear the shoes. I hardly wear my Loubie’s because I don’t want to ruin them. I should tell you that the red bottom can be fixed if you ruin it. Depending on where you buy them, they can be sent back to Loubie to be re-soled. Yes, I know this and still don’t wear them. What is wrong with me? I have so many nice things that I hardly use because I’m afraid of ruining it. However, you are so right, they are meant to be used not hidden in a closet, just looking pretty. That’s it, I’m gonna break out my nicer stuff tonight. I love that LV bag!! However, I just got a new purse so I can’t get a new louie (just yet).

  28. September 15, 2015 / 2:18 PM

Classic is def the way to go with shoes like that!

  29. September 15, 2015 / 3:02 PM

One day I would love to own just one pair of these!!!!! (In every color!!HA!) But seriously, they are gorgeous! Love your dress and purse too :)

  30. September 15, 2015 / 4:01 PM

I am always that way with my purses, I just wear them! I am so hard on shoes I could never imagine even spending the sale price. They look great on you and your pure barre legs! Go girl!

  31. September 15, 2015 / 4:02 PM

I have a friend that never wears her Loubs. They just sit in her closet, same thing with some of her gorgeous handbags. She’s used her Celine bag TWO TIMES in two years! I think she’s crazy because me, I wear the crap out of that stuff! She probably thinks the same about me though haha. My favorite Loub styles are the Pigalles and So Kates. You really can’t go wrong though, I’ve never seen a pair of Louboutins I didn’t like!

Oh I love those shoes!!! None of my heels get enough wear now that I’m not working so I have to find a way to bust them out! My Kate Spade wedding shoes were amazing and I’ve always wanted to dye them some fun color like hot pink and maybe it’s now time!

  33. September 15, 2015 / 4:43 PM

Those shoes are most definitely meant to be worn! Loubs are great, but I always have foot anxiety by how much I need to size up (gigantor feet!) I love, love, love wearing my fancy shmancy shoes because they cost enough to get a great ROI on them!

  34. September 15, 2015 / 7:22 PM

These are totally on my 30 before 30 list of thins to treat myself to! I think the nude like you have or a black pair is classic and they will be worn forever! I love that the red sole bottoms can be repaired too!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

  35. September 15, 2015 / 8:55 PM

all i can think about is “did she take these pics outside of a castle?” hahaha

  36. September 15, 2015 / 9:22 PM

I have been lusting over a pair of Christian Louboutins for ages now. They are such flawless and lust-worthy shoes! I have a few pair of these on my wish list :D

  37. September 15, 2015 / 9:57 PM

I am completely guilty of having those pretty shoes in the closet that I just like to look at, ha! These photos are fantastic and even though this is about those fabulous shoes I’m really loving the style of your new louie!

  38. September 16, 2015 / 10:30 AM

Yes girl, wear the shoes! Why keep a beautiful pair of LB locked away when you worked so hard to get them? I love how effortless they look on you, and you aren’t the first person I’ve heard say how comfy they are! I’m a true believer in if you are proud of what you have, show it off. Who cares what anyone else has to say. Sort of a more adult way of thinking on the “if you got it, flaunt it” phrase. haha. Nice to see your LV making it’s debut. Gorgeous gorgeous! (:

  39. September 16, 2015 / 8:24 PM

You really can’t go wrong with an awesome pair of nude heels! Jimmy Choo worked best for me! I have purchased a few things from the Real Real… I want to actually try and sell some of my stuff with them. I like their process!
