Not that I’m a bad flier like I get nervous or anything. I mean it’s not my favorite thing to do but I cannot stand the whole airport flying experience. I’ve even tried to make it a tiny bit less asinine by getting Global Entry clearance so then I get TSA precheck but honestly isn’t the airport the most unpleasant experience? Everybody is in a terrible mood. Everyone is rushing around, grumbling about having to take their shoes off (one perk of TSA precheck….no longer have to do that). The planes are overly full and seriously did they shrink the space in between the seats or is it just me?
My absolute least favorite part is the anxiety of bringing a bag on board. I’m not checking my Macbook or expensive jeans I would like to be in complete possession at all times. The people at the gate really love to rev up that anxiety as well.
“This is a COMPLETELY full plane. We will not be able to accommodate all your bags. Might as well check them now“. This is where I start getting that anxious feeling.
What boarding group am I again? Group 2. What the…..that is like half the plane apparently. Nobody is taking my bag I tell you. Now here is my biggest pet peeve. If you don’t even have a roller bag why are you so crazed to line up already???? I mean your seat is there! Why did you feel the need to cut in front of me??? You don’t even need the overhead!!!! Ughhhhhhhh
We flew United on the way up to visit my sister. They are the WORST airline. I am 5’7 and my knees were crammed up to the chair in front of me. The economy plus seats which were another $50 on top of the astronomical amount I spent pretty much looked like a regular seat. Then the poor people minions like myself were basically sitting on top of each other. It was pretty miserable.
Also to make a very long story short please excuse my absence from yesterday. Apparently there were strong winds last night which delayed us till 2 in the morning. This was after the TSA pre check line was CLOSED. Thanks Newark…..aka the worst airport in America. I seriously had a mini panic attack. I had to sit on my bag to close it. There was no way I was taking my macbook out that was buried at the bottom. Finally are waiting forever in the line after we were so politely told “it’s closed can’t you read the sign“……we caught wind of one Precheck that was open at the end of the terminal that we hauled over to. I understand there needs to be rules in place for safety but its like the minute people step into an airport nastiness ensues. End rant.
At least we had a fabulous time with my sister and her kiddos. We made it into the city to see the Gators destroy Georgia. I am actually in disbelief that actually still occurred. I wish I lived closer to my sister. She needs to move back to Atlanta. The Newark airport and I are going to take a break.
We got in on Thursday and celebrated the renovations in my sisters kitchen almost being complete.
The kiddos liked the Gator hats we gave them.
On Halloween we headed to the kids school to see their Halloween parade.

At night Mark and I stole the little one for trick or treating. She didn’t want to get into her Elmo costume because she was afraid everyone was going to tickle her.
I mean honestly how precious right?
Saturday we made it into the city to watch the Gator game at one of the local Gator bars. First we stopped at our favorite place to grab a quick drink.
If you remember from our engagement story Celsius in Bryant Park was a part of the magical weekend.
We hung out with one of Mark’s friends from UF who works there. Her name is Adrianne and she is amazing! If you are in the city I highly recommend you stop by and ask for her! Please ignore my highly uncoordinated scarf…..I needed my warm weather Gator gear.
I still really cannot believe the Gators still won. Don’t worry though I still want Muschamp gone.
Sunday was spent catching up, going to Barre with my sister and getting to soak up every minute with the kiddos. Followed by camping out in the airport for yet another delayed flight. At least we got home even if it was into the next day…..Definitely needed one of these this morning!

I totally want to hear a review! I am really leaning on the 6 plus when my renewal is up in December. I had gone back and forth with other phones but I just love iPhone too much to quit. I dont really like the way the regular 6 looks so the 6 plus it will be!
I hate the whole airport experience too! If you want to see the most unhappiest place in the world, just go to an airport! What is with that?! You would think most people there are happy to go on vacations. Not so much.
I’m totally with you, I hate the process of traveling. I LOVE exploring a new city and I’m not scared to fly, I just hate the hassle of it, it gives me SO much anxiety! Yikes – I think weather just makes everyone even more anxious about traveling!! I’m not sure what type of carry-on you have but having the hard ones is the way to go – they never make you check your bags because they know it will fit in overhead bins! United is the worst!!!! We always try to stick with Jet Blue and Southwest because they both allow free checked bags (remember when there was no such thing as baggage fees?!) and have the most legroom. Plus I love all the tv’s in the head rests on Jet Blue and the free Dunkin Donuts coffee that makes the whole plane smell yummy :)
omg i hate flying. for all those reasons plus it makes me nervous. even though i fly like every month. i know i’m crazy. the whole anxiety about making sure my bag gets a spot in the overhead is prob the worst too. i have a small bag just leave room for me please! ha. glad you had a good weekend though. love the weather!

I have a love hate relationship with traveling. Anything that’s out of my “normal” already just makes me super anxious so I’m with you there! The little one who didn’t want to get into her Elmo costume must think the same way I do! I would feel the same way hah! She’s adorable though!
the flying process really does suck! It makes me anxious too! But I will say compared to Air Canada, United is a breeze. Im still so mad!

In 2009 I flew to Alaska with my Aunt for a cruise. I had just graduated High school and it was the first time (I could remember) flying. Out of all the passengers they called me out of line to get a pat down. I had to stand against a wall, and remove my hoodie. I was 19 and it was humiliating. Once you enter an airport you’re automatically a criminal. It’s sad that this world has come to that.
OKAY I LOVE YOUR HEAD WARMER AND IT IS NOW ON MY XMAS LIST. Kind of pissed the grey one is not available!! Two. I am from NJ and Newark Airport IS THE WORST AIRPORT EVER. Like, I have such anxiety going there…. I would rather travel 30-60 minutes more just to go to Philadelphia Airport. I understand why you don’t like it so much!!!

What a fun weekend – your sister’s kiddos are TOO cute! I would love to hear your thoughts about the iPhone 6 – I went into the Apple store to check it out when we were in Vegas, and I was a little taken aback by how large it is now. Not sure if I’m a fan, but I’m sure I’ll be converted eventually. :)
The only magic about the airport is the airport bar. People are finally relaxed, having a cocktail, and dreaming of their destination. I seriously hear the most RANDOM conversations in the airport bar and people are always trying to get lucky. It cracks me up! I usually post up in the bar and let the people watching begin no matter what time my flight since airport bars operate on their own cray cray hours.
Ugh flying is the worst but those little ones sure do make up for it huh!? SO happy that you a fun weekend with family, those are the best ever!

I hear you on the traveling rant! I was traveling this weekend too and I literally laughed out loud when I read your comment about the space getting smaller on the planes, i thought the EXACT same thing, seriously I’m 5’7” too and feel like I can barely fit. I swear every time I step foot on a plane the seats are closer together. And everyone is always in such terrible moods, I witnessed a full on screaming match at check in between one of the employees and travelers to the point were I’m assuming a lady who was some sort of manager came over (not that she did anything but watch). Terrible!

Looks like you had a great weekend! I actually don’t mind flying — I kind of like it — but the anxiety does show up every so often. There’s always that issue that maybe your seat is double-booked, and the like. So I do understand that!

I don’t fly very often, but I’m not a huge fan either. I’d say more so because I’m claustrophobic and being a plane freaks me out. I never used to be like that as a teenager, but that last few times I’ve flown the anxiety shoots way up and I have to take gravol. Blegh. I’ve never had issues traveling though (knock on wood) but I don’t really travel in the winter so… that’s probably why. I’ve definitely heard plenty of horror stories though. Mostly involving major delays. That elmo costume is so precious. Other than the flight issues, it looks like a really fun weekend!! :)

RIP UGA…. that one hurt. I think United is the worst about flying and I won’t use them. A little trick, I always board with the first zone. Not the elite/super platinum people, but after that for the sole purpose of not wanting them to take my bag. The last thing the attendants want to do is stop the flow of boarding and tell someone they’re boarding with the wrong zone. Just something I’ve learned on my monthly travels :)

That Gator win was AMAZING!!! Ahh so great,felt so good to WIN! Yup flying is pretty stinkin annoying and people on planes have absolutely no manners. I hate when you land and its time to de-board and all these a-holes try to run to the front, like HELLO, row by row a-hole, wait your turn! So irritating.
Little Elmo is sooooo cute! Uh, there is absoutely NO LEG ROOM in economy these days! I’m only 5’5 1/2″ and my knees are up to my chin! Don’t get me started when someone reclines… I feel like I’m in a cage and can’t go anywhere! Anyway, despite traveling woahs – it sounds like a great trip!

honestly, i’m a weirdo who loves flying, and airports. i just love that everyone is going somewhere, or has been somewhere. sure it’s not always fun, and it sucks to go back home after a vacation, and i’m 5’9 so i feel your pain regarding the seats… but i have so many good memories of airports… running through the exit part where i’m finally reunited with KC or my mum :) good times. Of course, the bad times of crying and leaving them, not so fun. But the good times make up for it.

I feel like instead of things advancing to make it easier for you to travel, it’s just getting worse and they’re making it more of a pain to do. Flying (on United especially) is the WORST these days!! I couldn’t agree with you more… particularly the packed planes and baggage anxiety!! Hoewver, the gator clap (+ hats) is the cutest and I’m glad you had a good weekend despite the nasty travel part!!!
I can totally sympathize with you on flying.
I was flying back to the states from australia once and after several flights, delayed flights, etc. I was hot sweaty and racing to the next plane. They stopped me and said I needed to prove my bag would fit overhead. That drives me nuts!!! Of course it fits, I made it this far didn’t i? It all just adds to the hassle of a day of flying.

OMG YES! To the flying thing- I get sooo anxious when I have a carry-on and they start in with the plane being full! You’re right, it does seem like most everyone is in a bad mood too, which does not help. Sorry the whole traveling part wasn’t so great, but glad you had a great visit with your sister!

It all started with a pilot descending after 30 minutes of being in the air…he never said a word as to why he descended, and it freaked the entire plane out. I’ve never been the same.

I’m luckily? unluckily? can’t decide, vertically challenged, so I always have room when I fly, but I always feel bad for the gigantors. I make a point not to put my seat all the way back,even though I could. I’m not sure why airport workers have to be such assholes, I get that they sit there tell strangers the same thing over and over each day, but isn’t that part of the job? Ugh, bitches.
