How to Sweat and Water Proof Your Makeup for Summer

It feels good to be back.  Yesterday was definitely a whirlwind!  It was such a special feeling being able to spend the morning up on the campus that we both love and having it all to ourselves.  You know the planner that I am, I made sure it was the Summer break so none of the students were on campus.  Hence why we had to wait till the end of June.  We luckily got started bright and early and the heat held off till just the end.  With that said after yesterdays photo shoot in Florida in the Summer…….I thought I would share my products that were major lifesavers!  Even after shooting a couple of hours my makeup was surprisingly intact.

First Prime that skin.
Primer is not part of my daily routine but for important days such as this a primer was a must.  I used this one.

Make Up Forever HD Microperfecting Primer To GO
I like how it’s a to-go size so it’s a lot more affordable.  Especially since this isn’t part of my daily use this little tube has lasted me forever.  I put it on and then let it set.  I gave it a few minutes or basically the time it took to tweeze a few strays in my eyebrows and but on some lotion.
Smooth and blend it out
bareMinerals BB Cream
I know this seems like repeating a step but remember I needed this to last.  I have really fallen in love with this product.  To lighten up my Summer makeup I have really only been using this and a quick bronzer swipe (Deep End bareMinerals).  It is tinted, completely evens out your skin tone and it has SPF 30 which was very helpful for being outside.  Once again apply a thin layer and let it set for a few minutes.
I then applied my regular makeup which is the bareMinerals pressed foundation powders.  I stick to powders during the Summer it seems to help cut down on the oil factor for me.  I have also really been loving the Stila Custom Color blush (I raved about it before here).  It is super pigmented so you only have to use a little.  Plus it adjusts to your ph to create your own custom pink.
Stila Custom Color Blush
My two go-to for the eyes that stand up to all kinds of weather is Benefit They’re Real! and this waterproof Stila Eye Liner (Purple Tang is amazing for green/blue eyes.  It is deep violet with a tiny amount of sparkle).

           They’re Real! Mascara                          Stila Eyeliner

Finish it up with setting powder.
bareMinerals Touch Up Veil (medium tint).
Also because it was 90 degrees out I swiped this for good measures (I bought the mini for how little you have to use).
Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder

Last thing!
Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Setting Spray
This stuff is legit.  I’m not going to lie I got a tiny bit panicky spraying liquid on my perfectly set face but 3 quick sprays and your makeup will be weather proofed.  I am a believer.  Will definitely be using this during the hot Summer days here in Florida.
Phew! I swear it only takes me 15 minutes to do my makeup.  I don’t wear any eye makeup besides mascara and liner.  I don’t suggest you need all of these for daily use but this combo was the winning set for today.  I sweated a little bit at that end and I blotted with some Charcoal blotting linens and my makeup did not budge.
I can’t wait till the pictures are done!  What are you go-to products to help combat the Summer heat??  Hope you are having a great start to your week!  Check back tomorrow for a sweet giveaway you are not going to want to miss it!  xoxoxo

Waterproof mascara is a must for me in the summer. I spend so much time in the pools in the kids and running races, I always have it around. I also love BareMinerals products. I swear by the make-up.

I already use quite a few of these, but I just added a few things to my Sephora wish list. That blush sounds amazing! I have been in love with the Smashbox BB cream, but I am going to have to try this one. I love the Urban Decay spray. I am also a huge fan of their eyeshadow and 24/7 eyeliner.

I’m with you on so many of these products! Now that the summer heat and humidity is out in full force my skin needs all the help it can get staying shine-free! As much as I dislike loose powders I love the MUDE microfinish powder- I have the small one too and it has lasted me forever!

Yes to primer!! I use a good Tarte one for special occasions and a cheapy Rimmel one for casual days underneath my tinted moisturizer. MUFE is a great one too. And I would be lost without UD setting spray. It also just feels so good to spray on. And is that the dress you wore yesterday?? It is BEAUTIFUL and you look fantastic in it! Can’t wait to see some pictures from the session!!

Ohh that liner though, I might be popping by Sephora to use some of my birthday money on that little gem. I love setting sprays – I ordered mine from Skindinavia’s website and I got a deal on a two pack that came with a free little mini version that travels with me when I go to Tyler’s. I’ve had them for over a year and they’re still going strong!

I use a lot of these products! The benefits mascara, the MUF finishing powder, I have used Bare Minerals foundation and bronzer in the past. I went to pick out new foundation at Sephora this weekend and in the back of my head I was like hmmmm I wonder what Amanda is using. One of the girls there did my makeup and used the MUF HD primer and I LOVED it! I had used Smashbox previously but I like MUF way more! And I have been wondering if the UD spray worked and you confirmed it! They had sample sizes when I was at Sephora…I think I need to go back and get it!

Looking pretty in pink/coral my friend! Can’t wait to see your pictures!

I love makeup forever and I am having the hardest time letting go of using their products. Once I am all out of my current makeup, I am going to start getting all cruelty-free products… going to be interesting finding products as good as makeup forever :/

Gorgeous!!!!!!!!! I’ve heard so many great things about the setting spray! I’ve never used primer but you almost have me convinced that I need some! I may have to invest in both of those items! My go to summer makeup is as little as possible. I hate having that sticky cakey oily feeling. So I usually stick to just BB cream and a little blush and mascara :)

I thought of you this weekend…I stumbled upon a Barre studio near a Thai restaurant we tried… somewhat near by… a solid hour ride but it’s the closest I know of. Maybe I’ll try it out sometime.
