Happy Tuesday. This weekend I was smiling to myself thinking about all the hats I wear on a daily basis. I just just came back from a killer barre class, threw some sheets in the wash and sat down to grade some papers of the students in my class that just started for the Fall. I then wrote out my plan for the week for posts including this one about my new color love for the Fall. These pictures are totally glam and were a nice change from my usual barre pants and hair on top of my hair nights. From grading papers to shooting high end fashion shots, I definitely try to keep things interesting around here. Today, I want to chat with you about my new favorite Fall color and how to wear and style this trend.
Favorite Fall Color : How to Wear Mustard
I used to always shy away from all shades of the yellow family being a blonde. I didn’t think it was a flattering color on me and I couldn’t figure out how to style it. Once I bought this piece, I started gravitating towards this color more in all my Fall shopping lists. How to style the color mustard with you ask? Think of it as a neutral and add some bold colors like magenta or teal with it.

I own one yellow thing in my entire closet. I’m not really much of a yellow person. Although the darker mustard color is pretty. I bought that Chloe K lace tank in white and I am obsessed with it!

Mustard is a tricky tricky color, but you pull it of flawless [ i mean was there any doubt?]. I have a few yellow/mustard pieces in my closet but usually stick to other shades of the rainbow. Love your accent picks!

Mustard is a great color when done correctly, but it is difficult sometimes. I have some tops that are this color and I love wearing them–I just don’t wear them a ton because it’s hard to make them super versatile.

I don’t think yellow and blondes are a hard of a mix as your skin tone + mustard… You’re a fair pink so the mustard (I find that more of an orange… Am I cray?) looks fab on you! It would look purely horrific on my olive complexion AND blonde hair! I do like bright yellow though, and find that works with my bizarre coloring. It’s such a happy color, I wish people wore more of it!
i actually super love mustard colored accessories. i used to have a mustard hobo that was uber cheap and eventually fell apart but i wore that sucker from fall till spring and loved that it is mostly a neutral and goes with everyyyyything :) current wishlist is the perfect mustard bag and an oxblood one. give me alllll the oxblood too ha. now i’m getting off topic :)

You’re so right though – I definitely don’t think that yellow fits my undertones or my hair… but I also believe that everyone can wear any shade of a color, you just have to find the right one for you!
I used to have this mustard shirt dress when I was in 3rd grade, clearly I was on trend back then. Haha. Anyway!! I like mustard because it’s like gold to me. I think that it’s pretty and you can do a lot with it. Perfect for fall too. You also look gorgeous in all of your pictures, and I LOVE all of the picks in your collage! :-)
I love the mustard color in your picks but i’m just not sure how I would look in full on mustard. I did just buy a dress that had it around the collar. You picks are gorgeous. In the first one, you look like a princess from Game of Thrones.

These pics are amazing – you look great! I have a couple mustard fall pieces – I think it helps being a brunette, because most of the time I just wear the color with a dark jean.

I have 1 mustard sweater that I love, but it is a tricky color for us fair skinned ladies. I don’t wear a lot of yellow tones as I feel like they wash me out. I like the idea of adding magenta. Great color choice!
