Just Wear the Shoes

Alright, I know you all have at least one pair of shoes that you keep in their box, quite possibly with the paper still stuffed inside…..odd plastic sticks and all.  You may even have them inside of their dust covers, neatly folded in the box.  You stare at them longingly and think to yourself, “they are just so pretty!  I don’t want to mess them up“.  I have a few pairs like that.  Then I think to myself, “well Amanda why did you even buy them if they aren’t going to see the light of day?”  Well you know what?  I busted out one of my favorite pairs of “special” shoes and I realized that these babies are not meant to be housed.  They are meant to be strutted around.

These are actually super comfortable and lets talk about nude heels and what they do for elongating those legs right?  I am in love with the slight peek though of the red on the side of the apostrophy pumps.  Louboutins real extremely small!  I am a size 9 (or 39) regular and I had to size completely up to a 40, y’all know I give you all the details.

For all of you who were asking what was in my shopping bag from the Charleston girls trip it was this little number.  Louis Vuitton Pochette MetisI have been wearing it on such repeat.  I love the long luggage strap to make it a cross body, you can shorten the strap and make it a should purse, or just grab it by the handle as a clutch.  I mean it’s a 3 in 1 bag.  Totally justifiable right?  Side note.  Have any of you shopped on theRealReal before?  They are linked to Neimans.  I am intrigued especially with their coupon code sales.

  1. I think it’s pretty safe to say that I’ll never own a pair of these. “Sale” or no sale, I can’t spend that much on a pair of shoes, especially since I’m not a huge fan of wearing heels. I’ll enjoy looking at them from afar on my pretty friends :)

My husband got me a pair when we were in Vegas in May and same thing, they sat in the shopping bag, in their box, in their dust covers, in my closet until I broke them out for a wedding a couple of weeks ago. And now I want to wear them every day! =) I got the patent black slingbacks and can’t wait to wear them more this fall. Keep rocking yours…as if your legs couldn’t look any longer, these babies make them look fab!

My husband bought me a pair when we were in Vegas in May and just like you say they sat in the original shopping bag in the box in the dust covers in my closet until I broke them out for a wedding a couple weeks ago – and now I want to wear them everyday! I got the black patent slingbacks, but my next pair will be a nude one similar to the ones you have. Especially when I see just how great they make your legs look…I didn’t think they could look any longer, but they do! =)

  4. Maybe I’ll treat myself to designer pumps once my husband graduates and gets a job ?. Believe it or not, I’m not the shoe junkie in this house – he is. He has several pairs of high end men’s dress shoes… But he wears them, so… at least there’s that. Haha

  6. This whole outfit is perfection! When I finally get my hands on my own pair of Loubies, they will definitely be a classic pair in black or nude so they never go out of style. And then I’ll probably be one of the ones that keeps them in their dust covers in the box and afraid to wear them :-P

  9. I have these on my 30 before 30 list to buy for myself!! I adore them and think they deserve to worn especially since you can get the red soles repaired if needed!! I’ll go with the nude like yours or black since those colors go with everything! :)

I don’t have any in my near future but your talking about how to bust out your favorite pair really resonated. I have so many clothes that I only save for special occasions and then never wear.   13. Oh girl, I have about 5 pairs of shoes that are “in the box” now that I stay home! It’s so true though, what are we waiting for? Well, I’m currently waiting to NOT be pregnant so I don’t fall over in them, but still! Lol. Great post, and it applies to so much more than shoes (I carry my designer purses everywhere and wipe off baby goo) – your china, your shoes, your nice clothes, your attitude, everything!

  21. I love this post! You are so right, why have them if you don’t wear them! My husband is always telling me that for my Chanel bag, so I am trying to carry it more. Love the Louboutins…I’m trying to decide which style I want. I love the shape of the So Kate, but I’m afraid they are too high! The Pigalle seems more manageable, but I don’t know if I like the cut of the toe. Decisions, decisions…haha!

  22. Oh I definitely have a few pairs like this. Not because they are the most expensive though, but because they are so dang fancy! And this SAHM ain’t got no where to wear them! Maybe my hubby will take me on a fancy date night some time so I can justify breaking them out. Those shoes are HOT though. Love them.

  25. I totally agree. There is nothing worse than “saving something for good” and then 2 years later realizing you never even wore it once! And I have a slight nude heel obsession but most of mine are Nine West and not Louboutin … love them… so super sexy! You look gorgeous as always!

  28. You are so right, just wear the shoes. I hardly wear my Loubie’s because I don’t want to ruin them. I should tell you that the red bottom can be fixed if you ruin it. Depending on where you buy them, they can be sent back to Loubie to be re-soled. Yes, I know this and still don’t wear them. What is wrong with me? I have so many nice things that I hardly use because I’m afraid of ruining it. However,you are so right, they are meant to be used not hidden in a closet, just looking pretty. That’s it, I’m gonna break out my nicer stuff tonight. I love that LV bag!! However, I just got a new purse so I can’t get a new louie (just yet).

  33. I have a friend that never wears her Loubs. They just sit in her closet, same thing with some of her gorgeous handbags. She’s used her Celine bag TWO TIMES in two years! I think she’s crazy because me, I wear the crap out of that stuff! She probably thinks the same about me though haha. My favorite Loub styles are the Pigalles and So Kates. You really can’t go wrong though, I’ve never seen a pair of Louboutins I didn’t like!

  35. Oh I love those shoes!!! None of my heels get enough wear now that I’m not working so I have to find a way to bust them out! My Kate Spade wedding shoes were amazing and I’ve always wanted to dye them some fun color like hot pink and maybe it’s now time!

  36. Those shoes are most definitely meant to be worn! Loubs are great, but I always have foot anxiety by how much I need to size up (gigantor feet!) I love, love, love wearing my fancy shmancy shoes because they cost enough to get a great ROI on them!

  42. Yes girl, wear the shoes! Why keep a beautiful pair of LB locked away when you worked so hard to get them? I love how effortless they look on you, and you aren’t the first person I’ve heard say how comfy they are! I’m a true believer in if you are proud of what you have, show it off.   43. You really can’t go wrong with an awesome pair of nude heels! Jimmy Choo worked best for me! I have purchased a few things from the Real Real… I want to actually try and sell some of my stuff with them. I like their process!
