An Extended Weekend – Feeling Inspired

Happy Tuesday.  Monday has definitely come and gone.  I had so many plans this weekend to just write and write……then you know when the entire day just flashes by?  Yes, that is pretty much what happened.  Then, I watched my Gators dominate.  I would have never bet in a million years that game would have turned out the way it did but you know what?  If they beat Missouri this weekend……oohhhhh that LSU game is going to be a showdown.  Okay, enough SEC football over here.  I spent most of the weekend exploring the city with no agenda or time limits, can you even imagine?.  The weather was absolutely incredible.  I took off with my camera and phone and just allowed myself to be inspired by everything around me.

St. Petersburg Central Ave Murals

I have been drawn to downtown St. Petersburg on the weekends, there always seems to be something fun going on.  I parked and walked up and down central, checking out the newest street art murals.

Then I stumbled upon the St. Pete Indie Market check out their FB page for the next spots.

Sunday, we loaded off to Orlando for Halloween Horror nights.  I know I’m really odd but I absolutely adore haunted houses and scary Halloween themed events but I can’t watch horror movies.  I think I’m still traumatized from watching Scream when I was younger. I will have a full review for you but I highly recommend it!  Such a great time.  I definitely wasn’t scared but was surprised a few times, even caught a genuine scream on snapchat walking though the scare zones.

Halloween Horror Nights

We were back in the wee hours of the morning and then off to work on Monday which has lead to my absent post till today.  Playing a bit of catch up but will be back to regularly scheduled programming tomorrow.  Do you ever play tourist in your own city?  Did you know about the Indie street festival in St. Pete?  I am definitely checking it out again this weekend!  I hope everyone is having a great start to the week.

I love those murals! Exploring around my own neighborhood is one of my favorite things to do on the weekend, you never know what you will discover!

I have a love/hate relationship with Green Bench! Their space is amazing though! Can’t wait to see what they do with their expansion. And I’m the exact same way with haunted houses and horror movies. I love going to the events but don’t even think about asking me to watch a scary movie! Glad you had a great weekend! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

Looks like St. Pete has so much to offer which is why I can see why you were so inspired! I haven’t been to Halloween Horror Nights since high school and I was literally terrified – to the point I accidentally punched one of the characters that popped up behind me LOL! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

You definitely found some beautiful and fun murals all around!
Hopefully you’re at least semi-recovered from the Halloween horrors night–starting off the week with less sleep is never easy, but it did look fun!

i love the local festivals! Especially this time of year when it’s cooler. Omg I can’t even talk about football bc the Dawgs didn’t even show up to play. Ugh. But lots of football watching for me (or more like snacking and socializing!!) this weekend too!

Oh girl I absolutely HATE halloween things + scary things! My anxiety just gets ahold of me and I can’t enjoy any of it! Looks like your weekend was nice and sunny…I’m jealous. We were all soggy over here.

That Indie Festival looks so neat. I bet you’ll find really great things there too. There’s nothing cool like that in my city but I’m sure if I headed to the biggest city near me (DC) there’s just all kinds of events. Trish – tales from trish

Extended weekends are the BEST! It looks like you made the most of yours. How ’bout them Gators? It was so much fun to watch the game this weekend. My fiancé was going nuts when he heard how far they jumped in the ratings. It seems like this will be a good year for us!

Um, you are decidedly NOT strange for loving Halloween and haunted houses! I do too! Nobody will allow a preggo near them though. What’s that about?! I’ll just have to live through you and your upcoming post :)

So I can watch a scary movie, but I don’t do haunted houses etc. I can’t haha. Back in the brownie troop years I literally hid under a blanket on the hayride and refused to go in the haunted house… The brownie troop leaders were fighting over who would stay with me and who had to take the rest of the troop into the haunted house! lol Love the fun murals!

You’re so brave to do Horror Nights! Ha, I think the only Halloween inspired park activity I could handle is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party at Disney… ;)

we have murals like that but they’re in the sketchy part of town that no one ventures into, yikes!!

i could never do those scary haunted houses; i’d probably shit my pants and then poeple would put that on the internet!

Looks like a fun weekend! It is fun to play tourist in your own city sometimes too. Your pictures are great too. I’m also 100% with you on Halloween houses but I cannot watch horror movies!!! Like no thanks haha. Hope that you have a great day today too lady!!

Ohhhh those murals and that area look so cute!!! And I never said no to a brewery stop! I am not a fan of haunted houses or scary things. I am such a chicken. Chris and I watched the first two episodes of Scream Queens this weekend and he really liked it because “It is the scariest thing I will watch with him.” Sad, but true! Way to go on the big W this weekend!!! We had one too :) Happy Tuesday!

How fun are these art murals?! It’s so fun to play tourist in your own city. We live just outside of DC and I was visiting the Capitol the other week for work. I forget how lucky we are to live so close to such cool stuff!

I love the idea of playing tourist in your own city. I was planning to do that when I’m done with my photography course. Did you take a photography course or just kind of learn on your own? Oh and I’ve never been to Halloween Horror Nights and I live in Orlando…lol

Your city is definitely way more interesting than anything I would remotely find in mine! Bahaha! I should do a post on that just for shits and giggles sometime! It would probably contain more farm animals and tractors than anyone would be interested in :) Oh and I totally am the same way about scary stuff… I think scream ruined it for me too. I can barely handle haunted houses. Such a sissy :)
