Weekending – Fun Things to do in Tampa

This was definitely one of those weekends where we were out of the house more than in.  Which, that is rare for us homebodies.  I know talking about the weather is boring but can I just say, the Summer heat has hit Florida.  All the outdoor events this weekend were brutal. Gone our our humidity free days, replaced with the scorching ones.  Luckily the events had cold beverages to help!  Linking up with B to show the fun events that went down in Tampa this weekend.  Warning picture heavy post!

This week we went to the Pepin Brews with Attitude which was probably one of my favorite events because it was at night.  It also wasn’t crazy over sold so you were able to try anything you wanted with minimal lines.  We got to try out a ton of great local brews, my favorites were the Pair O’Dice Brewery from Clearwater and we love Blue Point which is from New York (obviously non local).  That is where we heard about the event for Saturday.

Saturday was the Blue Point event which was ehhhhh, not so amazing.  I can’t stand when events make you buy tokens or coupons to exchange for beer.  Cash works just fine.  It was also scorching hot out and extremely windy out by the water.

We decided to go check out the Slide the City.  Cool concept but insane lines.

Sunday we headed over to the Taste of South Tampa.  I was used to this event being in Hyde Park but I did like the Garden Club even though I probably should have worn shoes that were okay for being out in the grassy/dirt since mine were not so happy being schlepped around outside.  I like how there was food and drinks plus no crazy lines.  It was almost impossible to get pictures, juggling all my food plates.  I will tell you my favorite was that doughnut, still thinking about it.

The end of the month is the Margarita Festival and I have two tickets to give away for the local peeps.  It’s on May 28th from 12pm-11pm (Saturday).  There is also a run associated with it that if you run, you receive a General Admission ticket.  I’m kind of secretly excited that Blues Traveler will be there.  There is also a special tequila tasting if you which to partake and add onto your ticket.  You know the drill, rafflecopter entries for social media likes.  Plus, you can come and hang out with me for an adult bev!

I hope everyone had a fab weekend and back to the work week grind right?  Make the best out of today! Mondays are always my busiest, so I feel that it’s all downhill after today.  What were you up to this weekend?  Do you have any outdoor Spring events like this where you live?

What a fun weekend! I had completely forgotten about Slide the City. I had kinda wanted to check that out, it seems kinda crazy! I hate when events make you buy stuff with tickets too, such a hassle. Happy Monday girl! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

So many fun events for you this weekend! That Slide the City thing looks insanely cool, but I’m not sure I could’ve handled that crazy line. Happy Monday, girl!

What a beautiful weekend y’all had down in Florida! Sunshine for days! I’ve wanted to try Slide the City before because it looks like it would be really fun, but I feel like it would be insanely crowded and not worth the time. Did y’all go down the slide or just stop by to check it out?

Sounds like you got to go to some awesome events this weekend. Well, minus the heat! Luckily we had another beautiful mild weekend here in Alabama. But I just know that is going to change soon so I am soaking it up while I can! Food tasting events that have a few beer tents are my favorite ones to go to! I hate when an even is oversold and you have to wait forever to taste anything….or the whole token issue you talked about. That sucks too!

    May 16, 2016 at 12:41 PM

All of those events sound like so much fun, especially when they aren’t super crowded. Plus all the food looks delicious! We’re definitely starting to feel the heat and humidity in Houston too, and it definitely doesn’t make me look forward to the rest of the summer…

I always love the outdoor activities you guys have. There isn’t much up here until summer because of the unpredictable weather but I’m really looking forward to all the summer activities.

So funny that you were over in Tampa for a beer festival – I was over in St. Pete for one! The line for that slide looks crazy – I’ve been curious to see how that was going to turn out!

Okay, I’m ready to come visit you!! I’m also a total homebody, but it was so fun to get out and spend the weekend in Chicago last weekend. I think it’s good to have that balance, and your time looks especially fun.

This is what I miss most about Minneapolis – all these fun little festivals! Mpls is FULL of them in the summer. Like, every single weekend there are several to go to and they’re all free (if only the drinks were free, right?) Dallas has a few scattered throughout the summer, it’s hot as hell out and usually it’s an hour or so drive. Then you get there and it’s not that much fun. They’re not well planned and it’s so dang hot out… Ahhh to live in a fun festival city again!

Your pics are absolutely gorgeous! You just got a new camera and lens, right? I am glad I didn’t try the slide Tampa, it looked cool but no thanks to the lines, lol. They probably need to have more than one weekend with how insane it looked! So excited for the Margarita Festival!!

Seriously so much fun! I love a little festival/fair type thing! Probably one of my favorite things about summertime is all these types of random events! The Slide your city thing sounds neat! I’m with you on the lines though… yuck!
