Dreaming of Spring on a Budget

I know I have been trying to entertain everyone with all my random musings but I do have other skills….like budget shopping.  I am a firm believer that you can pair one thing expensive with everything else from Target and you look like a million bucks.  A “steal” top for me is not $100….that would give me buyers remorse.  I believe that a 30% off top on Target’s sale rack can wait until it hits the 50-75% off range before I consider it a bargain find. The key to dressing and looking like something is more expensive than it is means choosing clean modern lines that don’t go out of style. Also knowing what the high end pieces look like and finding the dupe because honestly…I haven’t found one pair of Tory Burch shoes that are comfortable…you can keep your logo my feet should not be numb by the end of the day (I’m talking about you Reva Ballet Flats).

I have been stalking Target because right now they have 20% off online Spring wear plus a $5 off coupon when you spend over $75 online.  Here are a few things I snagged.

I picked up this dress
It totally reminded me of a Mara Hoffman dupe but without the $412 price point!
Or how about these Sandals?  Under $30
Dead ringer for these listed at $79
How amazing is this cross body?  Perfect color for Spring and under $20!
Also picked up these D’orsay flats.  I couldn’t decide between the 3 styles they came in.  I went with the black but loved the snakeskin.  The reviews said they ran big so I went a half size down and ordered an 8.5.
Much cheaper than these Vince d’Orsay listed at $295

Here are the snakeskin ones ($27.99).

Much better price point than the Ted Bakers for $155.
Target you did it again! Here are some of my other finds to help spruce up the Spring wardrobe without breaking the bank.
White Structured Bag///Sparkly Smoking Slipper(on clearance $15)///Print Dress///Stripped Espadrille///Camel Top Handle Bag///Paisley Bikini Top
I am not affiliated with Target at all (heck I wish I was) but if you check out online they are having crazy sales and coupon codes.  I got my dress, the shoes and the cross body bag for $50 and the original price was $78 plus free shipping.  What things have you scored from Target recently please share!  Make sure you check out my giveaway!  Happy Shopping!  xoxoxoxo

Those striped wedges remind me of the pair from J.Crew summer 2013 that I loved but never did end up buying. I love your picks here. I have to admit, I am one of “those” gals that shop J.Crew, Madewell, Aritzia and tend to think I got a bargain when something is on sale but still expensive. I will say, though, that the quality of the retailers I mentioned is impeccable and really does last. You are correct though…I have found some gems at Target and Old Navy too.
Can’t wait to see you style your new spring pieces:)

Totally agree with you – $100 for a top is not a steal…I go straight to the sale racks of pretty much every store – can’t imagine paying full price – unless it’s for a dream bag!! Let me know if the D’orsay flats are comfy – they don’t look like they give much support!

I never pay full price for designer clothes and never will. I can’t imagine spending $250 on a top only to find it new with tags on ebay for $70 or on sale a week later! I think it’s down right dumb to spend that kind of money. Trust me I like nice things but I always try find a deal or I won’t get it. I love that Mara Hoffman Target look alike dress!

Could not agree more! I splurge on jeans and then live out of TJ Maxx and Target tops. I bought a pair of $200 flats once thinking they’d be high quality and worth the money. Couldn’t have been more wrong, it took over a year to fully break them in and they still couldn’t be worn for longer distances. Knockoffs, all day long.

Target always has amazing shoes that are modeled off higher end brands for a fraction of the price. Unfortunately their flats absolutely kill my feet, but I do love their booties!

    Love love that suit too!

Imagine me shaking my fist at you right now. I did not need to see this post. I am on financial restriction to only buy needs and not wants. Now I need to figure out how to justify that pink crossbody beauty as a need. Any suggestions? This is your fault.

I totally have those sandals! Got mine for a steal at TJ Maxx and I love them!! They dress up any outfit. Target is one of my all time favs. They have amazing bathing suits. I die when I find the perfect suit at VS and it’s over 100. I’m doing some shopping with my mom while she visits, Target is definitely on the list!
