Weekending – The One the Brought My Sanity Back

So Friday was nuts. I don’t like reliving aggravating situations but it was like every single person was sending me texts, Facebook messages, smoke signals, message in a bottle etc with questions about the wedding. Plus it was just a crazy week with work….like bizarre draining patients….so by the time I collapsed in Jesse’s chair I looked like death, my hair was too many days to remember dirty and I needed some uplifting spirits. Luckily my hairdresser who is also a wonderful friend of mine naturally brought me back to a level of normal sanity. Plus you always feel better when your hair looks fabulous right?
I was totally taking this selfie in the car and Jesse walked out and caught me……..busted. Let me go and bury my head now. Please ignore the no makeup…..big sunglasses hides all am I right?
After sitting in insane amount of traffic back I decided that I wasn’t going to let it get to me. I blasted some Taylor Swift, sang to myself and took in the gorgeous sunset on the drive home. This cop and I totally had T swift car dancing in common. Don’t worry bro I absolutely use both hands when I’m really feeling a song as well.
I arrived home to Mark making tacos. Not just any tacos mind you. Nacho shell tacos. Let me tell you…..they were worth it. I really need to get around to that wedding diet….
We fancied it up by pairing it with this. I highly recommend it. Rivals some of the higher end Russian River Valley Pinot Noirs. I want to say it was around $12.99 I believe.
Saturday I had to enjoy the gorgeous day out and met one of my girlfriends over at the new waterfront restaurant that just opened Ulele. Note to self next time open table it. An hour and a half for lunch???? We ended up hovering over people, grabbing seats and eating at the bar. The food was delicious full review this week.
One of my New Year’s goals was to actually use my fancy schmancy expensive camera more. My best friend Veniece has a great eye for photography. I set up the camera and let her go.
She said I can pay her in cocktails….done. The one on the left “ring of fire” mine on the right “native Summer” I highly recommend!
The rest of the weekend was spent trying to clean and make some organization of this new living abode of mine. Mark was gone at a softball tournament (solo behavior time) so I primped from head to toe. Oh yes it was the ugly mud masks and pedicure time. It is safe to say I have officially taken over both bathrooms. Mark is just going with it. Living with a man requires two bathrooms that is all I have to say about that subject.
Speaking of breaking out the camera I even used the tripod. Say what? Look at my new makeup storage and LED makeup light. You thought you were plucking your eyebrows before…..oh with that bad boy I discovered things that I didn’t even know existed on my face. Total Sex and the City moment of an hour spent in front of that mirror this weekend. Definitely broke out every mask and cleanser after that horror.
Sunday night was spent blogging and watching the Pats dominate! Belichick was styling as always

GAH, the dreaded no one reads the invitations or pays attention to the website textathon. Lots of fun right?!?! Glad the hair appointment helped, but totally understand the ARGH moment.
Fancy cameras are so fun to use. I’ve been using mine since the summer and love the way pictures look now, since they aren’ t just iPhone pics. Love your outfit, btw.
And that makeup corner is amazing. I can’t wait to have a better nook….looks like the perfect primping area. Which you took full advantage of, sans fiancé. I love girlie evenings ;)!

Ill have to try out the pinot noir you mentioned–have you tried Apothic Red? It’s one of my absolute favorite reds and it’s about $8 I think (maybe cheaper at Trader Joes). Definitely look for it if you haven’t!

i was completely ignored by my husband last night when the patriots were on #rage.
it’s good that mark just went with the bathroom take over. it’s always easy to go with things like that because it’s going to happen anyway!! i tossed my husband out of our walk-in closet because it’s mine. now he changes in the guest room LOL
I’m happy that you had a nice weekend and relieved your stress. Those cocktails look really good and refreshing, and I like that makeup organizer too. Ironically when I’m crazy stressed I clean. Sounds weird, but when everything is in it’s place and I can spell the fresh aroma of cleaning products, I am at ease. Sorry to hear everyone’s on your case. Just think, when the day comes none of those bad days will matter. (:

Love your makeup organization. Those mirrors are dangerous! Every time I stay at a hotel with one I get sucked in! When I’m feeling totally over worked two things help, I have to get in a good work out and burn off some steam, and then some retail therapy always does the trick – me time!

There’s not one near me {closest one is about an hour away} so every time I go, I stock up. Like STOCK UP with boxes and spend way too much on wine. But there’s is just so good and affordable that I can’t help myself! Hope this week treats you a little better :)

Where did you get the makeup organizer? I’m totally in love and need one ASAP! I’ve found that a lazy day doing what I want to do, completely uninterrupted (like phone turned on silent etc) majorly helps me regroup when I’ve just had too much craziness going on! I hope it gets better!!
