Tools For Getting It All Done
First things first. It’s about prepping the night before. I laugh when I leave most mornings. Let’s talk about what a bag lady I can be. When I leave in the morning, I am not home until most nights until 7. I have to plan for lunch, work, teaching barre and blogging. This consists of work bag, gym bag and lunch travelers. How much do I love this structured work bag? It looks extremely high end and it’s under $30. This bag looks like the Elizabeth and James Sling bag for the price of the tax of it. This workout bag is a perfect size.
Numero Uno of Importance
My planner is my lifeline. If it’s not written down in my planner, it’s not going to happen. I used to have an Erin Condren planner. I do love them but it does add a ton of weight to my work bag. I am a monthly over view kind of gal. I need a calendar that has wide monthly days to write into without being too big. If that makes any sense. This planner has been my hands down favorite. Thin, non bulky and just perfectly sized monthly overview. I feel like Goldilocks on this one.
Travel Lunch Bag
This is a loyal reader throwback item. From one of my original posts. What did I used to call this? I am happy to report that mine is still going strong. Pack it the night before, grab and go. Just remember to take it off the kitchen counter. That is a sad day when you leave a perfect lunch on the counter. This striped one is next on my list.
Favorite Energy Packing Snack
Speaking of what to pack in that lunch traveler. Y’all know one of my favorite go to breakfast meals was overnight oats. The only problem with that, it was adding to my list of prep work the night before. I found these new Yoplait® Plenti™ Greek Yogurt and that problem is now solved. This one has whole grains, flax and pumpkin seeds. The best part is that it is 140-150 calories and packs 12 grams of protein. Also, when it comes to yogurt and mixins, before you know it, the sugar content has skyrocketed. I was very impressed with the vanilla that the sugar content was at 12g for the entire container. I have seen some Greek yogurts with sugar content at almost 27 grams. Breakfast is so important because it gets your metabolism going. Under 300 calories is a good rule of thumb and something I tell my patients to shoot for. Plenti™ Greek Yogurt is under 140-150 and keeps you full with the grains and protein. I also have been eating one for a mid-afternoon snack when that bewitching 3pm hour comes. It gives me good energy to get to the second half of my jam packed day. I need good brain food before I teach my barre classes. I reach for. I reach for this and I’m good to go for class and it holds me over until dinner. I definitely recommend checking it out! You are superwoman! I would be lost without my planner, I just can’t do any of the online ones or apps, I need my paper planner in hand. And packing the night before, that is so key!

Does your monthly planner have a ton of note pages in it? I had a great monthly planner from Target last year that was just the 12 month overview and a TON of note pages (talking like a true notebook of pages) which was excellent for blog planning, but I can’t find it again!

I’m the same way! Prepping the night before is something I have done since high school and it has saved me time again. It makes mornings so much better. I am addicted to planners!

I need a good to go lunch bag one day…one that has the separate pouch for the ice pack. Right now I have a cute Vera Bradley one, but that extra ice pack pouch would be awesome for travel days!
I get tired just reading about all of the stuff you do in one day…you really are a busy bee! :)

I need to find a good planner! I had one that just wasn’t cutting it for me and it was making me more anxious than necessary, so I got rid of it. And I definitely need to get my hands on one of those cute lunch travellers once I am back in the work force! Those are freakin’ so cute! x

Where would we be without our planners?!? I agree about the Erin Condren one – too big and bulky. The yogurts sound delish, will definitely be checking those out!

I can’t fit my planner into all of my bags, (even though it is small) but otherwise I take it with me everywhere. I have to make a list every day otherwise I’ll never remember to do something. Like getting Chris’s 15 shirts at the dry cleaners… yeah. Anyways… A good tote bag is also essential. Thank you for sharing your tips, and keep on being amazing every day!! :-)

I recently started using a planner and it is helping me so much! I tried using my phone as my planner and I still do for appointments but for day to day tasks, I’ve realized I need to write them down in a real planner.

I am always amazed by how much you cram in to each day! Make me feel like a slacker over here. I leave with my lap top bag, my purse and my lunchbox so I feel you on the bag lady crisis.

I wish I could part with my Erin Condren because you are right, it is so bulky! It just makes me so happy! It fits in my giant Kooba purse that doubles as a work bag, I can fit that, my I pad, camera, all my personal stuff and my meeting materials! I feel like I look homeless when I walk out the door at 6:52 am for pre-work pure barre with all my bags!! So glad I’m not the only one!
Meghan @ Champagne & Suburbs says

It’s inspiring how much you get done in a day! I remember when I worked 3 jobs, went to school, and went to the gym 5 days a week. I look back now and think how did I do that because I sure as hell couldn’t now! Lol. I definitely agree with the planner thing! It’s my life saver. Thanks for sharing those yogurts! Sounds perfect and delicious!
