I was thinking the other day as I looked into my over spilling of products in my shower that extend up onto the towel rack, that I have way too many hair care products. I have so many different products that do different things that I really should put a stop to it. Saying that though, I love the fact that I have The Best Products for Dry Hair. – SEVEN, as I really do want to make sure that I look after my hair properly. However, there isn’t one day that I don’t go without one falling and torpedoing like a missile down onto my toe. Does that happen to anyone else? Mark has stopped asking “babe is everything okay?” because you know, loud dramatic falling noises in the shower. Just wanting to make sure I didn’t fall asleep standing up or anything, then take a tumble. Nope, it’s just my 32oz bottle of conditioner taking a direct hit to my pinkie toe.
Anyways. That was a long visual. I was thinking about how I find my hair care products. 95% of the time it’s from the love of my life Jesse, who has been doing my hair for the past 10 years. We are going darker and I love it. Jesse and I have an agreement that she will tell me when I’m too old for mermaid hair. Currently, she says I can still rock it. I love Jesse because she never pushes any products on me. She’ll just say things like “I used this on you today and think it would be great for you, if you don’t want it no biggie“. Then she gives me a friends and family discount and I’m out the door.
My first purchase on my own without her influence was an Amazon purchase and I was pretty happy with it. I read the reviews on there and was like hello prime lets try you out. I mean lets be honest, I wash my hair 3-4 times a week, so products last for me. When I was contacted by Living Proof to try out their products I immediately headed to their site before I answered. I like to do my research as you know. I’ve used their products in the past, mainly from Sephora samples and I really liked them but never followed through on the big girl bottle purchase.
So I headed to their site and liked what I found. They have this product selector tool that deduces it down to finding what works best with your hair.
By the end I was matched with the Perfect hair Day line. So here’s what immediately caught my attention.
“Helps you to wash your hair less often”.
Sold. Boom. I also read the reviews. THERE WERE A LOT OF CAPITAL LETTERS USED and exclamation points!!!!! People were clearly quite happy with this product. Since I’m a science nerd, I read the behind the scenes of the philosophy and how to of the brand.
Now, can it live up to that bold statement?
Well, so far so good. I have definitely been impressed with the first sweep of tries with these products. I usually can tell right off the bat if my hair doesn’t like straying from what it knows but so far, I have been loving the results. My favorite part of the line is definitely the styling and recovery products. They have a clean scent without being over powering.
My other favorite loves from Living proof are the nightcap overnight perfector. It lasts up to 5 days. I put two pumps into my wet hair and in the morning it looked like I had a mini keratin treatment. My hair is thicker, has more volume and my flyways are gone. Plus it was super shiny. I didn’t have to run my flat iron over my ends. This is a find. Hello silk soft baby hair. My other love is the restore instant protection I always use a heat protectant before flat ironing or blow drying. This one protects up to 450 degrees and leaves my hair soft without weighing it down.
Oh and they have a dry shampoo. Just saying. Check out this article.
Here is a quick shot of my current locks with using the PhD line. See, super shiny.
I also ordered the PhD line in a mini travel kit. Now, I don’t have to worry about the shampoo roulette of hotel showers anymore.
I’m happy to say I’ve found my new hair care line. I cleaned out my shower and my pinkie toe is very happy with the Spring Fall cleaning. Have you tried Living Proof before? Which line do you like? Have you heard of the PhD line before? Having to wash less. Yes please.

Haven’t tried them but any shampoo that advertises shampooing less is a win in my book! My long blonde hair (read: highlighted for the past ten years) is the absolute worst to wash! I love the Davines lines but it is super pricey. I order it on Amazon in bulk. And yes, I have way too many in my shower too! I will to check out this LP line!

I had to laugh because I always have stuff falling in the shower and people yelling to ask if I’m alright. They need to make those shelves bigger!

I used to buy whatever brand was on sale and then I started investing in my hair an MAN did it make a difference. My stylist has me using Loreal or Pureology and both brands are fantastic. I will have to give this brand a look, though, you have intrigued me!

I got my first living proof products when they were part of the 500 point reward at sephora and really liked it – I still want to try their dry shampoo and yes I have a stupid bottle fly and hit my toes every single day!!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

I haven’t heard of this brand but it sounds really good. Keep me posted on how you like it after a little while longer.
I think we’ve all had that shower moment where something heavy hits us and makes everyone in the house think you’re dead haha. Glad you survived it!

I was just sent a purifying clay shampoo and hair mask, and that stuff works great – haven’t washed my hair since Sunday! Love products that help me wash it less. Not because I don’t want to shower (I do!) but because over-washing DESTROYS your hair, and I’m trying to have mine long for a while. I’ve heard of this brand before… Good to know it also works when my free stuff runs out!

Oh man. I have wayyyy to many hair products right now. At least most are dual purpose or travel size. ;) It doesn’t take a lot of product for my shorter, finer hair. I’m thankful for that! I was just thinking of doing a clean out of all the bathroom products that haven’t been used in a while. It’s awesome when you find a product that really works for you, isn’t it?

Living Proof has been on my “need to try” list for awhile. I didn’t know that they had a hair selector tool on their site – that will be really helpful! Thanks for the heads up and review!

That product selector tool is so cool! I have been thinking of trying some new products for my hair. These sound fantastic!

I always have been curious about this brand, so now I’m intrigued if that means I don’t have to wash my hair as often. Sold.

I’ve been using the PhD line for a few months now and L-O-V-E it!!! It’s done amazing things for my hair! The overnight protector has been on my wish list for a while – now I really need to check it out!

I buy whatever my stylist tells me to get. I have extremely dry hair and highlight it on top of that so I only wash my hair once a week and do a keratin treatment when I do. I use Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Ginger shampoo and keratin treatment. I also love my Southern Belle mousse from Dry Bar. Gives me the perfect blow out every time! When I run out of my shampoo I may have to try this stuff!
Helene in Between says
I didn’t even know they had that!! so cool.

Everyone has been raving about their dry shampoo lately which had me intrigued but now that you got to talking about other stuff in this line, I clearly need to check it out! Plus, I love that they find what works for your hair type. You know me and my fine, thin hair over here.

I used the shampoo and conditioner from this line because they were selling travel size at Sephora! I really liked it too and was sad when it ran out. I usually gravitate toward products that my stylist uses in her salon. I’ve been going to her for over ten years and she always has great recommendations.

your hair is fabulous girl, love it. i have never heard of this brand but i will check it out if it gives me glorious locks like yours.
seriously, dropping the bottles on the pinky toe.. OUCH. why!

Question: does your hair tend to get weighted down easily from products?? You have beautiful hair, and in some pictures, I think we may have the same consistency of hair, but mine rarely, if ever, looks as you as yours!
Meghan @ Champagne & Suburbs says
YES! I’ve started using the No Frizz line from Living Proof and I feel the same way about the products. xo, Champagne&Suburbs

I’ve actually heard of Living Proof before and have a friend brining me a Sephora order from the states (YAS) and she’s bringing me some samples of this! So excited to try it!
Nadia @ The View Is Beautiful says
I’m on a mission right now to try and get through the massive amount of hair products that I have in my bathroom. I’m always trying out new things that I read great reviews for, but really I’ve found my perfect hair product in the Macadamia deep repair masque. Anytime I don’t use it I can feel a huge difference in my hair. Once I’ve cleared out my backlog of products I do want to give Living Proof a go – I had a couple of samples of their styling products back in the day that I loved!

Must be a girl thing to collect hair products! My mom is my go to for products. Whatever she carries at her salon is what I get. Gotta love the discount too! ;)
