Ever since I can remember; I have been a product queen. My mother used to call me a Drugstore queen growing up. I would wait until CVS or Walgreens had a makeup sale and go and buy the newest lipgloss, colored eyeliner and latest volume promising mascaras. Then when Sephora came to town and Hard Candy eyeshadows took all my baby sitting money, I was officially hooked as a makeup junkie. The funny thing is now, I really don’t wear that much makeup on a daily basis. I am a firm believer though of always doing a quick swipe of mascara before you leave the house. Always.
I love trying tons of new products but I am very picky about what is purchased in the true commitment full size. I rarely repurchase anything except for my NYX concealer. I have bought multiple tubes of that. Here are a few favorite products that have taken center stage at this current time.
Your New Favorite Foundation
I am not a huge Make Up For Ever lover, for some reason the pigments were never rich enough for me. However, I stumbled on the best Sephora consultant and 10 minutes later, I have two of my new favorite products. Make Up For Ever has just come out with a foundation stick and it is the ultimate multi tasker. It has a primer in it, so that step is eliminated. It gives the most natural finish but is still full coverage. Apply it a little heavier around your eyes and you won’t need your concealer anymore. I apply it with this brush. The best part, it photographs flawlessly. I wore it for these pictures and I am so happy with its camera ability. I highly suggest picking it up. I am color 125 for a reference point.
Favorite Contouring Duo
You can use it separately for contouring or swirl the two together for a quick all over dusting. It gives the most natural flush without any glitter or shimmer. I have been using this everyday and I’m hooked. Find it here.
Overnight Keratin Like Treatment
If you remember from this post, I have been digging Living Proof products. I have been using them for a few weeks now and this gem has risen to the top. I have a lot of hair but it’s fine. A lot of repairing type products really weigh it down. You put two pumps of this in your wet hair and when you wake up in the morning, hello results. My hair has volume, is shiny all the way down to the tips, and has a soft fullness to it. It is the real deal. You need a tiny bit of the product, that bottle should last you a long time. Holiday Vampy Lip
My new favorite dark fuchsia Fall lip color. No lie, every single time I wear this color I get stopped by at least three people asking me for the name of it. Non drying and fades gracefully without that dreaded outer ring lipliner look. The color is fuchsia mauve.
Gel to Oil Cleanser
Oil cleansers are the rage right now. For a good reason. They deep clean without over drying your skin. My top fav is ultrabland from Lush but there is beeswax in it and I don’t like putting it near my lashes. This cleanser goes on smooth like a gel but then when you rub it in, it turns into an oil. It washes off with water and leaves my skin baby soft smooth. No new breakouts which usually always happens when I introduce anything new. Find it here.

The first part of your post made me think of how my mom would ask me when I was in college why there were so many charges on her credit card (yes I was spoiled and my parents supported me) for CVS. Yeah, it’s because I was buying every type of makeup under the sun. Since I didn’t have any clue what to buy. That foundation stick sounds fab. When I finally learned about makeup, I bought this Chanel foundation stick that I used for years and loved. Then they discontinued it. :-( I don’t wear foundation much these days but I’ll be checking out that stick. That lipgloss is so pretty too. OMG, do you remember the Hard Candy nail polishes with the rings on them, circa 1995 and “Clueless” era? I spent all my babysitting money on those! Now, I’m not into products as much – just a great lipstick and mascara for me. But I’m trying to get more into hair products, since I know they make a huge difference and I have such long hair…

I love that you try so many new things! If I find something I like I get lazy and stick with it. I found nyx last year and it was the greatest find – I don’t think I’ve ever found something I don’t like and you can’t beat their prices! I do love that lipgloss color – I need a few more fall/winter colors!
I should really check out that living proof product. I have a decent amount of hair, but it’s fine too. It gets greasy fast so I rarely use product. Off to Sephora I go!

Good to know about the foundation stick. I’m always on the search for my holy grail foundation. The struggle is real. I’ve definitely had some bad luck with flashback from foundations. Yikes!

That lip color is killer, I love it!!! I have got to get one of those airbrush brushes at Sephora. Someone used it on me once there and I loved the finish but I was in a hurry and trying to “be good” and just got the foundation.

hmmmm i have never tried the nyx concealer i don’t think. i’m always on the hunt for a new concealer, i bought the maybelline fit me one on the weekend. i’ve been looking for a contouring palette thingy, thanks for sharing!
