Things I’m Digging Lately – 5 Products on the Radar
December 1, 2015Checking in with my top 5 products that I have been digging lately. I’ve mentioned a few of these previously but now I’ve been using them consistently and they have quickly risen to the top of the list.
The Best Self Tanner Ever. Period.
Alright I get it. I finally got around to using it and it’s the real deal. I don’t care what anyone says, self tanner smells. It doesn’t always initially but when the color starts to develop, it has that distinct smell. You know what I’m talking about. This one is the least offensive one I’ve ever tried. Usually Mark can sniff test self tanners a mile away. He never even mentioned it when I had this one on. The color that is leaves is a subtle golden brown, it doesn’t streak and fades naturally. I am a believer. You can try it out with this starter kit that comes with a mitt for application for under $30. I want to check out this in shower gradual tan next.
Kiss Your Clarisonic & Its Brushes Goodbye
My Clarisonic was starting to gross me out. Especially after a night or blog shoot with heavy handed makeup application. That brush turned so many shades of color that I knew there was no way it was coming out with just rinsing it with water. Plus, like razors and ink cartridge replacements, buying the brushes aggravated me. This little houdini does such a good job at getting makeup off and then it rinses clean. I also have really sensitive skin and I feel like it doesn’t aggravate it as much. I like the rounded tip, it really allows you to get in those crevices by your nose where blackheads like to hang out. The charge also lasts forever. I’ve had it for weeks and haven’t had to plug it back in. I’m converted over. It’s a great time to buy it now at Sephora with this kit for the same price as the device itself. I also reached out to the company and they are offering for Meet at the Barre readers 15% off LUNAs & ISSAs + Free Shipping with the code: MeetAtTheBarre. Check out all the Foreo products here.
New Favorite Foundation
This foundation stick gives the best coverage but still allows your natural glow to shine through. I apply it with this brush, this brush kit is a really good value. I have actually stopped using concealer and just apply this a little heavier handed around my under eye area. Cuts down the get ready time and one less product to travel with. It doesn’t flake and the coverage stays put for at least 12 hours. I really like how it photographs in my latest blog pictures as well. The next time you are at Sephora check it out and get a sample. Like myself, I went back in a week and snapped up the full size.
Contour and Strobe Like a Pro
I didn’t think any bronzer would stand up to the NARS laguna but this beats it. Such a pretty natural bronze kissed look. I apply the bronzer right underneath my cheeks and swipe out to my ears. Then dust on the top of the forehead, down the nose and on the chin. Then take the lighter shade, underneath the eye bone on the outside, right above the brow, the corners of the eye and down the middle of the nose. You are contouring like a pro. This is always my go to tutorial for that. Highly recommend picking this gem up. I use the lighter shade.
Mini Overnight Keratin Treatment
If y’all remember from this post, I am totally digging the Living Proof PhD line right now. I have a lot of hair but it is fine and thin. Most deep conditioning products weigh my hair down and make it super flat. I do like my volume over here. You put this on your damp or dry hair at night, comb through and then you can either leave it in or wash out in the morning. It makes your hair thick, shiny and have volume. The shininess is really what got me. All the way down to the tips of my hair. It also has a nice bounce to it. A little goes a long way so this little bottle should last a long time. You can also try it out in this Happy Hair Days kit.
There are my top 5 products that have been on major rotation lately. Do you use any of these? Which ones have sparked your interest? What are you favorite products right now? I hope everyone is having a great week and have been possibly getting all your holiday shopping goodies delivered!

Make Up Forever is quickly becoming my new fav for everything! And I definitely need to try that overnight keratin treatment. I’m going to need it after my trip this weekend! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

I love the st. tropez 24 hour tan, it’s the one that I’ve had the best luck with!! I like how small the Foreo is, you can take it with you anywhere!!! xo, Biaan –BlovedBoston

I’ve heard about St. Tropez self tanner for many years, but still have never wanted to pay the price for it. Maybe Santa will bring me the starter kit ;)! Super excited about the contour set, sounds fabulous!
Ashley says
I loveeee Living Proof products! Seriously the best. I still haven’t tried the self tanner and really want to!
Rachel Emily says
Ahhh so many great products I’m dying to check out!
Lindsay says
I’ve been hearing such good things about that self tanner for years and just haven’t bit the bullet to buy it! I know I would love it though! Still dying for that foundation stick and the new cleansing system sounds amazing! I love that it rinses off! Love these items!

Ohhh I want to try that Luna!!!! I was thinking about wanting to get the Clarisonic this year but maybe I should get this instead? And I really need to grab that Happy Hair Days Kit! I have been wanting to try out that brand since you and a few others have been raving about it lately. My hair needs all the help it can get!!! Plus that dry shampoo is in there and I have had my eye on it for quite some time!

I have a clarisonic as well and have been feeling the same way you do about it! I am so checking your little houdini out today ;) Thanks for sharing…

I love MUFE foundations and it’s the only foundation I’ve used for the past few years. I might need to pick up that foundation stick because it does seem like the perfect foundation to travel with. Just one less liquid to carry!
Jaelan @ Making Mrs. M says
I’ve heard great things about that little pro sculpting duo!
Ally says
I might need to try that foundation. I like that you don’t have to use concealer too. I’ve never heard of that Foreo thing before but Clarisonic was too harsh on my skin. I’ll have to check it out!
Amy @ The Crazy Wise Woman says
My Clarisonic grosses me out too even though I have really enjoyed it over the years. I don’t love that the brush just never looks clean again once you start using it. Totally looking into this product! I love a good self tanner, I am a year round junkie because I play so much tennis. Have you had a chance to see how it holds up during a work out? Some of them can streak immediately when you sweat… not a good look!
Caroline @ Windy City Chic says
That houdini thing sounds fab. Especially since I never got on the Clarisonic bandwagon. Definitely trying that foundation stick and that bronzer sounds lovely!! Thank you so much for sharing lady!! :-)
Shay @ Great Now What says
I need to try that self tanner * I’ve been seeing it everywhere and I’m kinda a ghost right now! Thanks!!!
Katie @ Champagne & Suitcases says
I’m dying to get some self tanner but it makes me so nervous…. I’m worried for some reason it would streak or I would turn our orange, is that weird?!
Katie Elizabeth says
Okay, I want to try every single thing here! MUST pick up that foundation soon – love the idea of using less products and cutting down on getting ready time!
Kacie says
I might have to give some of these a try – especially the sunless tanner, foundation and leave-in hair treatment!

I’ve heard so many people rave about the St. Tropez self tanner. I really do need to try it. And Makeup Forever is my favorite line. Their foundation is one I always come back to as it always looks good.
Jenna @ A Savory Feast says
I want to try them all! Especially the self tanner, since I can’t find one that doesn’t smell bad to me.
Missy says
St. Tropez is my jam! I have the gradual tan lotion and the mouse with the mitt. Perfect color every time! I got the pro sculpting duo and am trying it out and still not getting it like I want it. What kind of brush do you use with it?
Meghan says
I have always wanted to try the St Tropez self tan! The starter kit looks like a really good deal!
Kate @ Green Fashionista says
My Clarisonic is starting to gross me out too, loving this new alternative! However, I haven’t been impressed with the Living Proof line at all. My hair doesn’t look/feel any different with it plus it’s done absolutely nothing to control the frizz in this FL humidity. But that self tanner I must try! <3

Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis says
The St Tropez sounds amazing. I definitely know the smell you’re talking about which is why I never apply it before going in public. The face cleanser sounds pretty fantastic too. My Clarisonic just dies too quickly so might be time to try something new.
Karly says
I’ve heard so many things about that MUFE foundation stick – have you thought about getting a darker color for contouring?! I’ve heard it does wonders. I guess I really need to try the St. Tropez!
Amanda says
Ive been really wanting a clarisonic, so I’ll keep what you said in mind. That little face scrub is just so cute too, I love the colors it comes in! Also, St. Tropez is my hands down favorite self tanner! It looks so natural and goes on so easily! I’ve been using it for years and will never go back!
Christy Peeples DuBois says
I agree 110% about self tanners that even though they don’t initially smell that it doesn’t take long and I can smell it. I also have been wanting to try the in shower tanner that you mentioned.
Shannon says
So many amazing products! I have been wanting to try that tanner and that foundation stick sounds awesome!

I’ve been curious about the Foreo for a while now. I feel the EXACT same way you do about my Clarisonic… the brush looks DISGUSTING! It doesn’t even matter if it’s a new one either… they get ugly so quickly! And they’re expensive!!!!
Kayla MKOY says
I was just talking with my friend about Clarosonic. Although, your suggestion seems much more legit. However, I don’t wear a lot of make up (a quick swipe of foundation/blush + eye makeup). Would it be worth it for someone like that?
Always love these posts of yours!!
Krystal // The Krystal Diaries says
The Living Proof Perfect Hair Day sounds interesting. I have curly hair and lots of but my hair strand are thin too so sometimes over conditioning leaves my hair flat and oily around my roots.
Paige @ An Uncomplicated Life Blog says
All self tanner DOES smell! That distinct smell that you talk about… Yuck. I need to give this one a try because while I found a great at-home airbrush product, it stinks. And every blogger is talking about Living Proof… I say as I sit here with my greasy pony tail, haha! I need to try something new with my hair, that’s for sure!
Jenn says
All of these look fabulous! I wish Santa would bring me them all!!!
Paula says
I love Make Up For Ever products! I definitely want to give that stick foundation a try :)
