What I Wore: Fringe & Fur

The two trends that are here to stay, I teamed them together for this look.  I sometimes wonder what to do when I have a skirt that has pretty waist details.  Do I tuck the whole top in?  Or do I have flashbacks of the early 90’s with the tuck and poof out.  Do you remember that?  The overly large t-shirt stuck into your umbros that you would awkwardly tuck in the front and then the back would be pulled out.  You totally know what I’m talking about.  Might as well accessorize with a large bright pink hair scrunchie will you are at it.

Okay so moving along.  When I got this fringe skirt I was all, I love the top waistband detail but what do I wear with it to show it off without being too over the top?  I found this incredibly soft sweater that doesn’t add too much bulk and has a great shape.  When it was just the skirt and sweater I did a mini tuck in the front and then left the sweater out around the sides, I felt like it was a good compromise.  I’ve had this skirt up before but then it sold out very quickly. Also, the sweater just went on sale this morning!  So restock alert, the skirt is back so pick it up before the sizes sell out again!

When I picked up this fab vest on major clearance at Target.  I tucked the sweater all the way around and layered the vest on top.  I love the two textures together.  I paired it off with my favorite booties and this is a great weekend outfit to rock.  Sizing note.  The skirt runs a little small so I would recommend sizing up, I’m wearing a 6 in it.  The sweater runs true to size it’s a small.

How do you style skirts for the Winter?  Tell me about some of your latest shopping scores that you found on sale.  This vest was the ultimate winner for me lately since I was heading into Target specifically to buy it and found it on major sale!  Hope everyone is having a great start to their week!

Love the skirt and boots. In London we style skirts in the winter with about 100 layers, 3 pairs of tights, wellies and then some great big coat that will just cover the whole outfit! Haha x

I think I mentioned this in your last post about fringe skirts, but I love how this one lays flat! It’s so flattering! I love wearing skirts, but I have to pair them with tights here in the winter or else I’ll get a cold burn lol! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

I love that sweater. So easy to dress up or dress down. I am a huge dress/skirt person.. Except in the winter. It’s way too cold and rights do nothing for you in 20 degree weather! Looking forward to warmer days so I can rock skirts again!

I totally rocked Umbros and neon pink windbreaker track suits. Keep in mind this was when I was 10-12 years old. Accessorized with a bright pink neon shoelace bow in my hair. Boom. Haha. Anyway… moving on! LOVE this entire outfit and cannot believe that you found that vest at Target!! Nice work!!!

You are so fabulous, I love this look on you! My method for tuck and poof was to tuck tightly and raise both of my arms for the “poof” part. Perfect science of the poof right there. Your half tuck is flawless and works very well with the fringe skirt. Sidenote: where do you find these fabulous locations for your fashion shoots??

I tried to do the tuck and poof this weekend and chickened out. I was trying it with this awesome sale score top and flare jeans. Went with the open back free people shirt I found from you instead.

So jealous of the Target vest score! Also it is amazing how normal the length of the skirt is in you and how short it is on the genetic freak models. I would never think something like that skirt would look good on me without you showing it off, thanks! You look great!
