Why You Need to Commit to a Skincare Line Right Now
March 27, 2017
You know that I harp all the time to you about taking care of your skin right now. That includes staying out of the sun, sunscreen all day every day, and committing to skincare regimen. I am now into my 30′-s and I want to take the best preventive care of my skin. My grandmother even into her 90′-s barely had any wrinkles and neither does my mother. One pearl of wisdom from my grandmother was to always sleep on your back. She used to get a mirror and push it up against my face and say “see that is what happens when you sleep on your face. See how it gets all wrinkled up?? It will stay that way if you sleep like that“. I basically sleep on my back like a vampire, arms crossed and everything. Whenever we would travel for my skating competitions growing up I was always the first person picked to room with and share a bed……I do not budge when I sleep.
I’m digressing again but I can tell you taking care of your skin has been drilled into me ever since I was a little girl. I started using eye cream in my early 20′-s and have progressed to full on skin regimens now. I’ve always assembled a mishmash of products mainly from trial and error of samples as well as word of mouth. I am so happy to have finally found a complete product line that is tailored for exactly what is going on with my skin at this time in my life. SkinCeuticals is a pharmaceutical grade clinical skin care line that is intended to promote healthy skin, treat the signs of aging, and prevent further damage. It is used by dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medispas for daily at home use and to complement in-office procedures. They have clinical trialed all of their products and everything is made in the USA in Texas. I am always trying to find and support companies that are based in the US.
My fundamental skincare concerns are isolated dry skin areas on my cheeks, I have sensitive skin that still hormonally breaks out, I want anti-aging without being “too much“, I don’t want to use Retinols, I require daily SPF, and hydration without being too oily. Got all of that? I’m not overly picky, right? Well, I had the absolute pleasure of being treated and introduced to the SkinCeuticals line at Faces of South Tampa.
I was introduced to the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restorative 2:4:2 which addressed pretty much all of my concerns with the first one being dryness on my cheeks. A lot of time my makeup will not glide over and create that flawless finish because it catches on some of those dry patches. I have been using Triple Restore Lipid 2:4:2 every day and it completely cleared up the dry skin issue I was having. When skin ages it becomes susceptible to lipid depletion, which is the loss of natural fats (ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids) on the surface of the skin. That is where the Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 from SkinCeuticals comes into play. It is the first of its kind to contain the anti-aging lipid correction cholesterol dominant ratio to refill lipids. It has been clinically proven to improve the smoothness of skin, laxity, pore appearance, and overall radiance. Check the reviews, people cannot get enough of it. There is seriously not one bad review and you know someone always finds fault in any product.
I had the absolute pleasure of receiving a Triple Lipid Restorative Facial at Faces of South Tampa. For all my local peeps, you have to check it out. Faces of South Tampa is located in the Bigelow Mansion right where Gandy meets Bayshore Blvd in Tampa. It was very easy to find and there was plenty of parking when I arrived at 9 am. I’m not going to lie, I was a little intimidated at first. I have never been to a Med Spa before, especially one of this caliber. I will honestly say from the moment I walked in, everyone was so genuinely sweet and welcoming. The main office suites are in Bayshore mansion in the front. I really want to go back and take pictures on the front steps.
Since the mansion is historic each room radiates with charm and character. I loved the big windows that let all the natural sunlight spill in. I was taken down to the carriage house for my treatment with Brad. Sometimes I have completely no filter. I pretty much blurted out, “oh my gosh, you have the most flawless skin ever, like airbrushed, whatever you do, I want“. He was so friendly, down to earth and genuine. He took the time to listen to my concerns and tailored the facial to my exact needs. I already put in my calendar when I plan on going back. I’m hooked. I really don’t like getting a service where you feel like they are just pushing their products on you without really listening to what concerns you have. Brad has an extensive Medical Aesthetician background, sits on multiple product line boards, and really knows his stuff. I felt completely confident with him and I highly recommend if anyone locally is looking for “their person” it’s him.
I get a facial probably every two to three months for the past couple of years. I can honestly say this is the best one I’ve ever had. My skin felt like glass when he was done. I was glowing, my skin looks hydrated, and like I just got 12 hours of sleep. I pretty much was skipping out of there and couldn’t wait to share my experience.
I have already talked with a few friends about SkinCeuticals and every single one of them gave glowing reviews. I feel like I have been living under a rock that I didn’t already have the line on my radar. It definitely is a commitment price point but I’m telling you it’s worth every penny. I’ve added the Phloretin CF Antioxidant (vitamin C) to my daytime regimen. I mean read the reviews of that product. People are passionate about it. The Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 that I talked about and the one thing that I always forget but a lip treatment. I will smear on chapstick before bedtime but I have completely ignored my lips when it has come to prevention. This Antioxidant Lip Repair will last forever. The tiniest bit goes a long way. Put it on your nightstand, use in the morning and nighttime.
So have I convinced you yet to start taking care of your skin? Do you have skincare regimen that you swear by? Have you heard of SkinCeuticals before? You can purchase the products online here or put in your zip code to find a local skincare professional. If you are local and looking for someone to help you with your skin right now I HIGHLY recommend seeing Brad at Faces of South Tampa. You can book online here.
Thank you to Skinceuticals for this opportunity and sponsoring the post. I did receive a complimentary facial and compensation for my review of their line. My review is completely 100% my own and I thank you for supporting the brands that work with Meet at the Barre.

That office is so dreamy! And I’ve gotten much better about my skincare regimen but I need to get better about getting facials. I usually only get one once a year with my mom and I know I should do it more often. Happy Monday love!

Your skin is glowing after that facial! After having a hydrafacial earlier this year, I’m really hooked on taking care of my skin with what’s happening to it right now!! Glad you found a line that works for you! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

Your skin looks so gorgeous!!! This place sounds amazing and looks so cool with the old mansion setting. I have heard of this brand, but never tried anything. You are making me want to order a few things. My skin is pretty much exactly like yours. Same issues. I bought the Murad Acne Time Release face wash yesterday to try because it takes care of acne and wrinkles all in one. So rude that I have to deal with both, right? The lip stuff sounds amazing!

I do not use this but I always see it at my dermatologist’s office. I need to try it, you look great!

This is MY kind of post. Friends are always telling me my skin is smooth, and how do I not have any lines…honestly, I had horrible acne in my early 20’s, which made me focus on my skincare routine, and I get regular facials, microderm, and use quality products. We’re at that age, where it’s super important! I should visit Faces of South Tampa! Also…I wish I could sleep on my back, because my esthetician has told me the same thing, but that is the one habit I can’t get into – womp womp.
