It’s been a few months since we moved into our house and things are coming together very slowly. Moving and being pregnant was perfect timing let me tell you…..when we closed I found out two weeks later, life has such a way of working right? The first trimester I felt pretty useless with how tired I was, all I can say is thank goodness for movers I found on Groupon and both sets of our parents. I still have nightmares of our king mattress in the back of a pickup truck going over the Gandy bridge and swaying side to side on a particularly breezy day. My mother unpacked all our wedding presents and put together our kitchen as well as helped me sort through bags and bags of clothes that went off to the Goodwill. It feels so nice to have space, a garage, and our location is in the center of everything we want. Basically, the bones are perfection, now it will just take some time to make it all pretty and fit for grownups. We have a laundry list of things we need to do that include so much coordinating with other people, the amount of phone tag I’ve played is absurd. Everyone loves to call me back at 10:30 when I’m in a patient room. I know it will all get done and this little peanuts room is the first thing on my list of to do before I hit that third trimester and really have zero energy. I wanted to share a few things that I’ve recently picked up for the home that I’m loving and give me all your advice for furniture deals!
I love these cleaning cloths. You just add water and they disinfect everything without any harsh cleaners. They are the best for cleaning countertops in your kitchen and bathroom.
I talked about this before in my Amazon post but this drying rack is so genius and I wonder what took me so long to get it. No more having to prop up dishes all on each other.
My first “furniture” purchase was this bench from Wayfair. I love that it has storage in it. I may move it to another room and get this one for the master when we actually get some real furniture. Seriously, why is furniture like the price of a car? It will definitely take a lot of effort to keep this type of furniture clean though, as we will probably be using it quite often. I have been told to look into this upholstery cleaning machine for my furniture as it is supposed to get rid of all the dirty particles that you can’t see with your eyes. I’ve been told that it gets rid of stains too, so this machine could actually come in very handy as I’m always spilling stuff on things. And this is definitely not good when you have paid a lot of money for it. So, give me all your furniture shopping hacks please.
I never really thought pricier sheets were worth it until I splurged on these from the Bamboo Sheet Shop. They seriously make your bed feel like a luxurious hotel stay and it makes it that much harder to get out of bed to work every morning. The white really freshened up the room and make it look so bright and airy now. This is my first experience with bamboo sheets and I am loving them.
One of my FAVORITE gifts off our registry is this oven. We have turned on our main oven twice since we moved in. We seriously cook everything in this. It heats up so quickly, cooks everything so thoroughly, and is worth the price tag. If you are looking for registry gifts or want to stop using your big oven and heating up your whole house, I honestly recommend it whole heartedly.
We have really tall ceiling and door frames now, so I can’t hang any of my drying clothes from the doors anymore. It was seriously kinda a problem when we first moved in. My mother grabbed this hanging rack for me. Now it’s my blog staging for which clothes to shoot and a place to hang Marks shirts for work.
Last. I got this Google home player from a campaign and I am really loving it. I like asking in the morning what tasks I have planned for the day, it syncs to your calendar. Plus, it links to Spotify so instead of having the tv on in the background I’ve been slowing weaning Mark over to having music. I honestly didn’t think I would like it as much as I have been. If you have been thinking about it, I would recommend pulling the trigger.
That is my list of home things that are currently making my life a little easier and I’m digging lately. What have you been loving lately? I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Moving while pregnant is no joke, so I am with you! Furniture shopping is brutal too, but my biggest piece of advice is to not spend a ton right now. Any purchase decisions I made while pregnant could change pretty drastically and it’s crazy how much wear and tear kids can put on furniture. I am all about Ikea and all of the hacks on Pinterest. I dig Overstock too because they have a lot of the same pieces as One Kings Lane and Wayfair at lower prices. The bedding and your room looks so peaceful and serene!

Those sheets are my favorite, so luxurious! And that oven sounds amazing! I’ve been on the hunt for a new convection oven and I definitely need to check this one out, it seems perfect! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

Omg our house is still no where near where I’d like it to be and we’ve been here for three years!! You’re right, everything is so expensive and I still like to go on vacation, you know?! haha. It will get there!

Okay, totally random but I just love your little nightstand. It speaks to my farmhouse heart. :) Girl, furniture shopping is so expensive! My biggest advice is to watch for sales online and shop any major holiday weekends – with Labor Day coming up, most stores should have some good deals going on!

Your bedroom is so beautiful! I love how crisp and clean it is. Your mom sounds like a great lady! Ugh furniture shopping is the worst. I just make a pin board with ideas and then search and search for the best price on something similar at amazon, target, craiglist and wayfiar. Sometimes local stores are great too!

Both of those benches are awesome!!! I think I need to ditch that nasty wire rack thing I have in the kitchen sink and get that mat! It would be so much easier. Furniture is expensive. We purchased/replaced things when we found something we really wanted/loved or found a good deal or both. Except for when it came to Zoe’s room, I searched and searched for a few months and got everything done. I think there is nothing wrong with an empty room or a blank wall until you really find what speaks to you!

Your bedroom looks gorgeous! Totally feel you on the expensiveness of furniture. We came from a tiny apartment in Chicago and it has taken us forever to fill up a 4 bedroom house, ha!

Your bedroom looks like a comfy hotel room with the white sheets! I can’t imagine moving and being pregnant but thank goodness for both of your parents and movers. A tufted bench was one of my favorite purchases for our new house since we already a ton of furniture. I need to try those cleaning towels. Have fun decorating the rest of the house! xo Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis

thank goodness for the movers and your parents, i can’t imagine moving whilst pregnant. and yes i’m with you on the long list of things to do and playing phone tag with people. trying to schedule everything is such a pain. we’re in the middle of our kitchen right now and it’s just so difficult getting everyone scheduled when we need them without conflicting with someone else and somehow fitting in with our work schedules. what a mess. ooh those cleaning cloths sound interesting! i LOVE wayfair. my only tip, if you can call it that, is that wayfair changes their prices all the time. so i have a ‘wish list’ and i just know the price of things i want to buy and i check it out every now and again. also, things are sold other places but possibly under different names. i found this shelf unit thing for our blu ray player/playstation etc for $400 on wayfair, i loved it but i couldn’t pay $400 for it and i didn’t want to wait. it was on walmart, amazon, overstock, so many places. i got it for less than $200 on overstock i think. so just shop around, which i’m sure you do anyway!
