I have really tried to be very picky when it comes to purchasing any pregnancy related clothing or items because honestly, it’s such a short amount of time that I’ll need the clothes. It took basically almost 5 1/2 months till I was truly out of my own clothing, I’m now 6 months along and have only 4 more months of truly needing “maternity” clothing. I also was very lucky to have a great friend who passed along some of her very gently used (with dry cleaning tags still on them that’s how fabulous she was) clothing from her pregnancy so I have a ton of work dresses/items from her. Everything right now is all flowy and oversized so I’ve been able to get away with a lot of things in my own closet as well. I did want to share with you a few of my staples that I’ve been living in. When I announced on Instagram and here, I got a ton of mommas to be out there that let me know their due dates and I know you’ve been asking for what I’ve truly purchased. Here are my live in go to’s right now.
I am not joking you when I said I bought 6 different pairs of black jeans trying to find the ultimate pair (the under the belly pair). I can get away with wearing these at work so I wanted to make sure I got a high-quality pair. Plus, I’ve been wearing them at least twice a week so they need to stand up to a lot of wear. I don’t love the over the belly band pants quite yet, I’m not there yet so these side elastic bands are where it’s at. Also, you can still tuck your shirts in the front so I don’t feel so sloppy and oversized.
Mark is probably so sick of me wearing these shorts (on major sale!) but man they are so freaking comfy and go with everything. Order your pre pregnancy size, I got them in a 4 and they fit perfectly. Also, love this lightweight top from Sanctuary nonmaternity perfect for the Summer heat.
I want to shout from the rooftops the quality of this line Bae the Label. I don’t know what it is with maternity clothing that automatically just puts it into the cheaply made category for an exorbitant price point but I have been unimpressed with most pieces I have gotten. This is totally NOT the case with this line. I have been living in this dress right now with the Florida heat and it’s so comfortable. Plus, it is well made because all the lines match up on the side and back. I also love the long sleeve striped dress, I will be living in this black one, and this skirt is insanely flattering. Side knot one of these striped shirts with it and you will look super put together while still remaining comfy. Bae the Label is an Australian company and I could just gush to you over the quality, genuinely! I did hesitate for a hot second with the shipping (I believe it was $23?) but no lie it got to my doorstep in 3 days from when I placed my order. That is impressive. I highly recommend grabbing a staple or two from them.
I have been living in these Lush tunics from Nordstrom. They wash and wear beautifully. They are nonmaternity but oversized. You can tuck it in the front, knot it to the side, or wear it as a tunic with leggings.
I did grab a belly band from Ingrid & Isabel. It’s definitely not something I would wear on a daily basis but it does allow you to wear some of your tried and true favorites that the button just won’t go anymore.
If you have some growing assets up top and none of your bras fit, I have been on the hunt and found the holy grail here (it’s called the bralleujah bralette for a reason!). Super soft, no tags or back enclosures, and gives plenty of support. Buy in every color.
Another great staple tank dress that you will wear on repeat. I make sure to add a long cardigan when I wear to work.
If you are having any back pain, this relief band has really helped me. I love that you can make the packs hot or cold. The way it is engineered, it hits you perfectly in that low back area where the majority of my pain has been this pregnancy. If I’m having a particularly bad night with back pain I also add this essential oil to coconut oil and it really helps.
Finally, this coconut oil lives up to all the hype. It’s extremely pure, a little goes a long way, it absorbs so well and is not greasy. I rub it all over my stomach to hopefully prevent stretch marks, so far so good! I also rub the excess over my nail beds and over the ends of my hair. The uses of coconut oil are pretty much endless.
So there you go! My tried and true pregnancy essentials thus far. Tell me what else needs to be on my list that you couldn’t live without or any products nonmaternity that you are loving?!?!

I know I was loving all the oversized regular items when I was pregnant and postpartum because you can still wear them as you shrink back down and get the money’s worth out of them. Can we all agree to keep oversized things in style? It is quite lovely. You are the best dressed bump around!!!

I splurged on 3 pair of designer maternity jeans and it was the BEST decision ever! I lived in them since I was big pregnant during fall/winter and I’m sure I will get my money’s worth with future pregnancies

You still look SO tiny I can’t even imagine you needing maternity clothes! I avoid splurging on jeans and pants because by the end my hips and legs take so much pressure and swell, no matter the season. I swear by Target online, because the stuff there is 57 times better than in store. I like to pop into A Pea in the Pod and shop their sale pieces too sometimes. They can have some GREAT deals!
