Things I’m Digging Lately – Modern Tie Dye

April 28, 2015
This post may contain affiliate links. Purchasing through them help support this website.

I may be dating myself here but do you remember back in the day when for a Summer project you would get a big ole bucket, some rubber bands, white shirts and make super creative tie-dye shirts?  Then when they dried you would add that side knot to actually add style to that mens hanes shirt, layer up some colorful socks and add a scrunchy…..your outfit was complete.  I was still a little bit on the younger end of that trend but I used to idolize and try to emulate my sister for that look.  I totally rocked a side pony…..there I said it.

I was a little hesitant when I saw tie-dye making a comeback last Summer and it’s definitely here to stay for this one. However, I love how subtle the patterns are this year and with the different color schemes.  I have worn this romper so many different ways, with black pumps, gladiator sandals, tights and heels or with nude heels for the ultimate elongated leg.  The long sleeves counteracts the sexiness of the short shorts.

Those DIY tie dye parties back in the day were the best – I guess it was an early indicator of my love of crafting! I’m liking this modern spin on tie dye, too :)

Oh tie dye. I totally remember those projects, buckets and rubber bands and trying to arrange your shirt so it came out just right. I much rather prefer this toned down, grown up version. That romper looks amazing on you!

When I saw tie dye I was a bit scared. (; But ok, that romper is adorable. I like that it uses subtle blacks and whites and how you dressed it up with some heels. I remember tie dying. I’ve done it a lot, but I’m pretty positive I never wore one of those creations other than as a night shirt. This is a much trendier take on tie dye!

Gosh I wish I could find a romper to fit my awkwardly tall frame! But they all pull in all the wrong places, ya know? Actually, I’m going to put you on that – find this tall girl a romper! ;) You look AMAZING!

I totally rocked a side pony, too! Now I help my daughter and her friends tie dye their stuff. I bought her a scrunchy recently. It’s madness. Everything we liked is retro again. They even have those giant black-soled shoes in Steve Madden again. Anyway, I love your romper and I am DYING for that LV bag! Gorgeous!

I never comment but I am a long time reader and really love your content and the direction your blog is heading. When I found you, you quickly became a favourite. With that being said, I am not loving the new layout of the site. I don’t like that I can’t read right off of a blog reader but even then, when I go to your site, I find it hard to get to the blog posts. I do most of my blog reading on my phone so am partial to a certain layout, I realize.

Anyways, I hope this doesn’t come across as rude. I just really like your blog and am noticing that I’m not coming back as often because I don’t find it as easy to read.

      Hello Jessica,

I am the one who did all of the hard work for Amanda’s blog. Not only did I sit here for days and transfer everything over, I installed the current theme provided by Restored 316 Designs. Because Amanda is taking her blogging to a more professional level, a truncated (read more) blog feed is what she needed.

Here is a tip, don’t read this blog on a mobile device since you are having trouble navigating the blog. Mobile devices are used for making telephone calls and messages and quick emails. To get the full effect of the whole site, use a computer. A lot of other bloggers are using the read more option anyways due to having a lot of content.
