Top 5 Product Reviews That I’m Digging

Product Reviews

This Deodorant

T'eo Deodorant

I feel like I am embracing my inner hippie in todays post.  As I am getting older I’m getting really weird about things.  Like I don’t want to heat things up in plastic, or drink out of plastic if I can help it (hello bkr bottles…..amazing).  The last thing to ditch was my daily chemical romance with antiperspirants.  Okay, don’t jump to conclusions.  I’m still using deodorant but there is a lot of scary articles out there about the effects of long term use of aluminum and it’s possible effects on breast cancer.  Like I tell all my students in my class, google searching and WebMD are not acceptable sources.  However, when you read this abstract from a biochemical journal on pubmed.  It definitely helped support my decision along with this one as well.

I am not using aluminum in my deodorant anymore.  I found the best all natural deodorant.  Of course it’s from Lush and called T’eo deodorant.  I seriously want every single thing in that story.  Okay I live in Florida.  It gets hot.  No problems with sweating or smell.  I know this is lovely dinner conversation if you will but it works.  Try it.  I sent my sister up in Jersey out to get it and she is hooked.  It smells great and works.  That is all that matters plus no scary aluminum.  How to use, hold the blue side and rub the bar under your arms.  The white dries clear and doesn’t transfer onto your clothes.  Try it.  I will never go back.

Silkiest Hair Ever Products

Alterna Caviar

This is on my my fav product reviews right now.  Do you want toddler silky hair?  Then get this Alterna Caviar shampoo and conditioner.  It is sulfate free (see embracing my inner hippie).  I usually shy away from anything for “damaged”  hair because it weighs down my thin stranded hair.  Not the case.  Even after one try, my hair feels like it hasn’t been colored a day in its life. The initial price tag is a little scary but not kidding, you honestly use a dime or pea size amount and it is enough for my entire mop of hair.  In love.  Try it.  You will be as well.  Plus with Amazon prime you can have it by Thursday.

Gold Accent Everything

ring

How cute is this dish?  Looks super high end and would you believe me that it’s $7?  It is sold out online (of course it is you know I have that power).  You can try your store or check this similar one.  I actually couldn’t decide in store which one to choose.  Check it here.  Dress up any space you have with it.  Also, obsessed with these thank you cards!  Speaking of thank you cards.  Throwback post on how to write them here.

This Face Cleanser

Lush Ultrabland 2

My face has been a disaster lately.  Dry, then breaking out and oily.  Lovely.  I think my previous products were too drying, so then my face would try to compensate and hello break out city.  This post from Paige was ground breaking for me.  Wash with oil?  Say what??  It ends up making total sense.  While I was at Lush getting my hippie deodorant I asked about a face cleanser.  The lovely sales gal “oohhhhhh ultrabland……it is the best“.  To which they do their hocus pocus show where they rub their creams and potions on you and before you know it, your skin feels like a baby and you’re whipping out your credit card.

In all honesty.  I’m a convert.  It’s a totally weird concept.  It has an almond oil base.  It breaks up all the makeup on your face and you wipe it off with a warm washcloth.  My skin has never been smoother and no problems with dryness.  It cleared up in days.  They have a 30 day challenge.  Nothing on your skin but ultrabland and I am 2 weeks in and totally sold.  I will say, the reviews online say you can use it to remove eye makeup.  Ehhhhhhh not so fab.  Use an eye makeup remover first and then the cleanser will have no problem cleaning up those remaining remnants.  Seriously, just read the product reviews. People are all holy grail about this product and I’m right there with them.  Find it at Lush here.

Broken Record I Know

YSL lip pop color stainsLastly.  Have y’all tried the water pop colors yet?  Does this help?  I call this after work dress selfie……..I am obsessed.

YSL lipstains

It is so perfect for the Summer.  Plus, if you swipe it lightly, it has a pretty pink tint.  Apply darker and you have the ultimate Summer red.  Nordstrom is price matching right now.  Get them on sale before they jump back up in price.  I am wearing 201.

Those are the top 5 products I’m digging lately.  Have you heard of most of them yet?  What are your thoughts on the natural deodorant.  Would you be willing to try?  I swear it works!  Stands up to the Florida heat.  If you have any questions please feel free!  If you are loving these posts I would be so appreciative if you could stumble and pin them!  The buttons are chilling down below before the comment box.  Hope you are having a fabulous week!  xoxoxoxo

Ok, thanks for completely freaking me out about my deodorant! I’ll be heading to Lush sometime this week to pick up the one you have and probably that face wash because… why not? I used some of their stuff last year and liked it but didn’t think it was amazing. If that makes sense. And you already know how I feel about that YSL color. AMAZING!

I embraced my inner hippie this weekend, haha! Good choice on the sulfate free, so important for hair. I’m a big fan of LUSH, too! Great products!

I tried that shampoo when I got a free sample and totally agree with everything you said about it…I think I might have to get it and just use it like once a week to save it LOL! I still have yet to use any lush products, but I just know they would be amazing!!! I think your YSL collection will soon be better than Sephora’s lol! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

All of these have me intrigued! I might want to check out that deodorant–the aluminum stuff scares me! Smelling bad scares me too lol. Glad you found one that works and is safe!

So good to know about the deodorant! I never heard anything about that before. The shampoo sounds great, but I’ve been loving that natural coconut one I got recently. I swear it makes my little girl’s hair so silky her hair bows keep slipping out! lol It’s only $15 for a big bottle! That little dish is adorable. I need to get to a Lush store! Ive never been. That lip color is perfect on you and Emily just pointed at your photo and said it’s T T! Which is what she calls my sister Christina. You guys look a little bit alike I just noticed lol. xo

Ok you’ve totally convinced me to research deodorants! I’ve had problems with them in the past but I’m not in to putting things I know are harmful in/on my body!! Thanks for the heads up!!

I need to get into a Lush store asap! I have always loved their bath bombs but never actually tried any of the other products. I am all about all natural, chemical free everything. Tom’s deodorant isn’t my fave so I will definitely try the Lush out! It clearly is proven to work in NJ ;)

Oh my gosh! I literally JUST ordered some aluminum free deodorant this morning. I bought some Toms… and well, that stuff does NOT work. O.o I bought some that had great reviews. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll definitely try the kind you have!

  12. Paige @ An Uncomplicated Life Blog says

I bought the deodorant! Still shocks me how many people are clueless about the chemicals in it… And about the chemicals in conventional diapers what are on their babies skin 24/7, and that Johnson and Johnson uses cancer-causing talc and formaldehyde in their products for BABIES, and on and on and on…

Welcome to the hippie life, my dear!

That ring holder is so pretty. Chris’s grandma gave me one and I use it all of the time. I’m also now freaked out about the deodorant thing. :-/ Love that lip gloss too, its on my list to try since you’ve raved about it in the past. :-) Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these products and I hope that you have a fab day!

I was planning on swinging by Lush to pick up a new body soap this week – I’ll have to check out the deodorant too. I’ve tried other non-anti perspirant deodorants, I just don’t know if they actually do anything.

  20. Kate @ Green Fashionista says

    June 16, 2015 at 11:02 AM

I am so glad to hear I’m not the only Florida gal who has ditched traditional anti-perspirants in this heat. All those chemicals scare me, and LUSH can do no wrong!

so confession: i never wear deodorant. i knew, ew gross, right? i’m just so afraid of putting anything on that area because lymph nodes are right there and well, i don’t like the idea of chemicals near that area!

  24. Brittany says

I’ve been using natural deodorant ever since my friend was diagnosed with breast cancer at 27. Anti-persp are so bad for your body. I will have to check this one out! I usually use Toms

No joke, I was just looking up natural deod the other day and was worried to try any because I dont want to be uncovered, ya know? Glad you did the testing for me :) I have got to order that and the face wash I think! We dont have lush here, which makes me sad. Thank goodness for the interwebs!

That Alterna Caviar shampoo/conditioner is one of my holy grail products. It seriously saved my hair after a disastrous winter. Oh, and you know I LOVEEE YSL lip stains ;)

That deodorant sounds super interesting…hmmm I might have to try it! How portable is it? I’m always on-the-go from the gym to work to play ;)

Lately I’ve been thinking more about the products I use on my body. I have been wanting to find an alternative to chemical-filled deodorants. This one sounds great and it’s affordable, too. We have a Lush at the UTC mall here so I need to get some!

  31. Leslie says

    June 16, 2015 at 8:57 PM

I attempted to switch deodorants while I was pregnant, but the ones I tried didn’t work well at all. I definitely need to try this one! And that shampoo/conditioner sounds exactly what I’m looking for!

  32. Sara says

    June 16, 2015 at 10:06 PM

I need to pick up some of that YSL lip stuff – I love their stuff but all of mine is WAY TOO OLD… so definitely need some new stuff. Totally pinning this!

  33. Tiffany | A Touch of Grace says

Okay, if this new face wash doesn’t work I’m heading to Lush and getting that one for sure. My face has been a hot mess for like the last 4 or 5 months and I’m done.
And that color looks awesome on you girl!

  34. Carolyn says

    June 17, 2015 at 10:34 AM

Love the recs! I went straight to lush because I am a product junkie…the sales girl talked me into aromaco deodorant – she said it’s what she wears and its gentler on skin, so I figured I would try it. I’ve been using soapwalla, but I’m always up for trying something new. Also picked up ultrabland – my skin is already loving it.

  35. Meghan @ Champagne & Suburbs says

    June 17, 2015 at 1:59 PM

I’ve become more concerned about what I’m putting on my skin too! I’m using Rinse deodorant; similar concept to Lush. And I am using Beautcounter on my skin so I can know really what’s in the products. Love your YSL lip color! I picked up a couple the other day. xoxo
