Urban Decay Naked3 Palette Review
December 19, 2013Happy Wednesday. Hope everyone is having a good week. As promised here is my Naked3 Palette Review. I have the first edition…didn’t get the second one but ordered the #3 the minute I got the email from Sephora. I had a $20 off coupon for being a VIB Sephora Insider which basically means I spend way too much money at Sephora in a year so they give you “coupons” so you end up buying even more. I always like to order online through Sephora.com if I can because they have the best coupon codes and when I bought this Ebates was 8% cash back (btw if you are still not using Ebates please message me and I’ll tell you all about it! It is a bargain hunter online shoppers dream). I used the code MERRYMINI and I got a really cute black case with some pretty sweet minis. It shipped fast and I was ready to open my first Christmas present to myself!
I tried to take pictures in the daylight and under lighting because so many of the colors have a really pretty sparkle or sheen that you only can appreciate under the light.
The case has a nice weight to it with a waved texture front.
BTW do you know how hard it is to take pictures of your own forearm while balancing a heavy DSLR camera?? A camera tripod is on my Christmas list so hang a little with me for the next few posts until Santa or my parents gift it to me.
There are 12 colors ranging from light to dark that you can layer and play around with to have a really pretty basic daytime eye or smokey nighttime look. From my impression they are grouped together in a sets of 3. One matte, one with glitter flecks and one with a shimmer and no glitter. This palette has a fair amount of pink undertones that melt and blend onto the lid.
Strange– Great all over lid color, good matte pigment with a slight pink nude undertone.
Dust-Pink shimmer with faint glitter.
Burnout-Faint peach glimmer.
Limit-More pink hued matte.
Buzz-Darker rose with faint glitter.
Trick-More pink copper with shimmer
Nooner-Matte purple taupe.
Liar-Satin finish mauve pink.
Factory-Starting to get into the darker section of the palette, satin finish warm brown.
Mugshot-Satin darker taupe.
Darkside-Deeper satin grey.
Blackheart-Deep burgundy with copper glitter, catches the light beautifully. My favorite of the palette.
It comes with a dual ended brush, one side for overall color and the other side for getting in the crease of the lid and I also use to to line my eyes with the darker shades.
The last three on the right are definitely my favorite. I used the “blackheart” with the angled corner end of the brush to line the top part and right under the lashes for a smoky smudged look.
There really is no messing up with this palette because you can layer and layer, darken, lighten and the colors have great staying power and blend ability.
So far it is sold out on Urban Decay’s website and Sephora. It is still available on Ulta’s site but the bummer is no coupon codes are allowed for it.
I think for right over $50 it’s a great buy. You are really getting all the eyeshadows you could ever need in one palette with an all in one brush. It should last you a long time since the colors are really pigmented.
I also got this adorable black zip pouch with the following minis.
Algenist Retional Firming & Lifting Serum. This retails for $98 a bottle!
NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. One of my favorites!
So considering all these samples were free plus the cute black case…I’m a Sephora.com addict.
Next week I have a new hair iron that is such a game changer for girls with thin hair like me who love tons of height and body….I have fully adopted the “higher the hair the closer to God” Southern lifestyle. I was digging this iron so much I contacted Sam Villa and they gave me a coupon discount code for my readers. The code is BARRE (love it!)
So what do you guys think of the Naked3 Palette? I honestly don’t wear a ton of eyeshadow on a daily basis that’s why I love this palette. Plus the darker colors are super pigmented and last at least 8 hours. Have you tried this palette yet? If so what are your thoughts? Any products you have been interested in that you want me to review? Have a great finish to your week! Let me know your thoughts! If you have a second please follow me on Bloglovin or Blogger thanks!!!

i’m glad to see this. i’m not a makeup guru by any stretch but i’ve been contemplating this palate. i love natural and i kinda suck at doing eye makeup so i want something easy and versatile!
i do have a temptu though and i swear that thing saves my life. if not i’d look like clown on the daily!

Ashley I would totally go for it! I love the versatility of it for a quick sweep for daytime and then the darker for nighttime. I also really like having everything all in one. Let me know if you get it and your thoughts! :-)

Thanks so much for your review…i’ve been debating on getting the 3…I have the 1 and 2 and not sure how much different they can make it lol! I see a couple of different colors, so maybe I’ll just get it haha! I mean we can’t have too much eye shadow can we?!

I read a few of the 1, 2, and 3 palette review comparisons from my investigating this newest one has a lot of pink and gold undertones and they all compliment each other really nice. The dual ended brush is nice quality as well. It’s perfect stocking present size :-)

hold on.. you have thin hair? i never would’ve guessed. you do a damn good job at styling!
Amanda Elizabeth - Meet @ the Barre says
I have a ton of hair but the strands are really fine….so I have to tease and add product to get any height on top. Also having a straight cut with no layers helps. This iron is amazing because it adds texture to your roots without having to add all those drying products.

I’ve been dying to get one of those pallets. I feel like despite my not wearing eyeshadow.. ever.. it would be impossible to mess it up!

That’s why I got it as well. I rarely wear eyeshadow during the daytime but the colors are all so natural and pretty with a few dark ones to transition to a nighttime look. I’m glad you stopped by!
