Scenes from the Holiday
December 26, 2013Welcome back! I hope everyone is recovering from your holiday and you had a wonderful time with your family, friends and loved ones. Here is a major picture heavy recap from our holiday. Mr. Steve the kids elf flew back to the North Pole and brought them back lots of presents. Since I was unsuccessful with getting a pre-lit Christmas Tree during the Black Friday sales this year (in all honestly I didn’t really try hard). I had to wait till I came down to my parents house to see a fully decorated tree.
Christmas Eve we let the men take over the kitchen their motto was when in doubt just drink a beer and the cooking will get easier. There was some serious steak discussion that required bringing out a measuring tape (only when men cook am I right?)
Side note all the time I discuss with Mark about presentation and arrangement of hors d’oeuvres I think he has has been paying attention ;-)
My sisters husband Dan took to the grill and about halfway through cooking those massive steaks, the propane tank quit. Luckily my Aunt Dona who lives .7 of a mile away came to the rescue and we brought hers over to resume the grilling (thanks Auntie D!) Here is Dan with his best “Blue Steel” Grill Master look.
Mark and I took the girls to the aquarium during the day while Christina and her husband golfed. We had a very successful day after we had a stroller tutorial before we left the house (on both of them mind you so much stuff for two little people). There were plenty of manatees, sea turtles, dolphins and sharks even though Avery instructed me that Hammerheads were not sharks…..hmmmmmm. Look at mini me with her sassy pose at the age of 4.
My sister and I are just a tad OCD so we “let” the children decorate the finishing touches on the Gingerbread house. They are learning well and did a great job without doing too much freestyle decorating hahahahaha.
Mark and I bought Amelia a large Gator that opened up to a pillow. We really wanted to keep it for ourselves but I don’t think we will be able to wrangle it away from the kids.
Let the his and her gift registry begin! Totally digging these Gator towels and Tervis Tumblers. Even though the Gators just hired the Offensive Coordinator for Duke what the heck??? I think we are going to be in for another year of misery.
Then we had a very small window of time to get some Christmas card shots for next year. Kids are such moving targets!
We then took it outside for additional attempts.
My Aunt Dona got in on the action!
My mother set a beautiful Christmas Eve dinner table with the kids in bed waiting for Santa to arrive and Mr. Steve finally away until next year. They have to think of something else to watch over the kids in the meantime.
Then we popped open some champagne and celebrated the new engagement and happiness for the New Year! By the way (More Carolers can you spot them??)
I hope everyone had a fabulous time celebrating this year! Did you get everything on your list? I saw a lot of Urban Decay Naked3 Palettes on Instagram!!! Cheers to the New Years. I wish health, safety and happiness to everyone! xoxoxoxoxo
