I’m glad you came back after yesterdays confessions post.  I am not going to lie, every time I write one of those my heart speeds up when I hit publish.  Then I smile throughout the day when I realize I’m not the only one with quirky behaviors.

I am really excited to introduce you to my newest obsession.  I have been taking and teaching Barre classes for a little over a year and a half.  Before that I was really into Bikram and hot yoga.  With hot yoga my least favorite part was getting back into my car afterwards.  I mean honestly sitting on a towel after a workout didn’t seem natural to me.  I also got really tired of those few individuals (you know who I’m talking about) who took the breathing a little too seriously.  I mean come on bro it’s bad enough you’re already in my personal space but now I have to hear and literally feel you breathing next to me and ugh I think you just flicked some of your arm sweat on me.

One of the things I found in hot yoga is that my feet would slide all the time…sweat yoga mat = hazardous conditions.  When I started taking Barre and I was introduced to sticky socks I was like finally you are speaking my language.  Holding a 90 second plank without having to worry about my feet sliding and therefore being able to focus all my energy into the correct areas….what a concept!  Doing what I love!  Teaching Barre.

However there are some positions that the grip especially on my highest toes or in a lunge position sometimes the socks were not cutting it.  I tried these Blake Brody in-studio footwear and I honestly have all positive things to say. First of all how cute are they?

According to the Company
“In-Studio Footwear® is designed to supply traction in order to prevent slips and falls, while allowing the foot, ankle, and toe to maintain their natural range of movements and sensitivity to the ground during studio activities like Pilates, barre and yoga. The result is a flexible, soft, breathable shoe with a split sole and padded arch that would provide structure without detracting from the experience in the studio”.
They honestly reminded me of a ballet slipper but not as stiff.  You can still point your toe and have full range of motion.  I really like the padding on the inside it was just enough without feeling bulky.
My absolute favorite part is the grip the bottom has.  Here is the link that explains all the technology but your feet stay grounded and I felt less likely to supinate my ankles.  After class when you get home just take a soft wet wipe to the bottom of them to help maintain the stick.
The one thing I will say is that the bottom does stick so well that when you want to “slide” into anything like a split stretch the heel doesn’t slide because the sticky part will make contact with the floor.  I pull my pants over the heel and that helps with that.  That happens with sticky socks as well and you will notice a lot of Barre gals will pull the pants over their heels for that reason.
I love this pair because of the delicate pink crochet strap.  I also am really digging the Founders stance on using only Vegan materials that do not include any animals products or toxic chemicals.
This line is blowing up and being featured in al the major magazines Self, W Magazine, Lucky, Fitness, Allure and People to name a few.
The other line I was swooning over was their Ballerinas for the street.  They run around the same price range as Tory Burch Reva flats but has all the same inside cushion and support technology as the in studio line. I can only guess if they feel like the in studio line……they would be 10 times more comfortable than the TB flats.
Definitely adding these to my lust list!
They are on the pricier side for sure.  However with all workouts when you commit to the exercise you want to buy the equipment like the right running shoes, the spin shoes that clip into the bike etc that help you to potentially prevent injuries and perform at your highest level.  Plus you know that feeling when you get a new pair of shoes it’s like you can’t wait to lace them up and hit the ground running!
Also since you know I am always looking out for y’all….I mean I can’t review a product without getting something for you!  So Blake Brody is graciously giving one of my readers a pair of the In-Studio Performance Footwear.  Are  you excited??  I sure as heck am!  Only the best for you!  Come on don’t leave me hanging ;-)
(via tumblr)
I’ll keep the rafflecoptor up for a week.  Tell me what you would class and workout would you wear these to?  I hope you dig these as much as I am!  One more day till the weekend!  xoxoxo

a Rafflecopter giveaway

**I did receive a pair of In-studio performance footwear.  I was not paid for this review.  All opinions are my own and plus I sweet talked into getting y’all a pair too!  xoxoxo

I love these shoes, maybe I will be inspired to try barre. Are you familiar with this one? They are building a new location literally 5 minutes from my house!!! http://purebarre.com/

And since I missed your confessions post I will just say I think we can be real life friends for sure now. I had the sea salt caramel gelato cup for dinner recently, am lazy with eye makeup removal, paint my own nails to save dollas and have been known to skip a hair washing or 4:)
