I know just about everyone is feeling this way but where did this Summer go? I seriously cannot believe it is the end of August already. This past weekend my in laws were in town and between looking at houses, going out to dinner, and catching up…..it was Sunday night at 9pm and I was zapped of creative energy. House hunting in the market we live in right now is pretty tough. There is such a small area that everyone wants to live in and it has really driven the market to unrealistic price points. I go back and forth between pining away for a new space to relishing in our condo and the fact I can save like crazy. I’m not going to lie though……when I see his and her closets it almost makes me want to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the rest of my life just to be able to afford the mortgage. When the right one comes along it will all work out for now, I am utilizing the space underneath our dining room table for storage.
Let’s talk about my new brand love. If you remember from this post last week, I highlighted some new brands on my horizon. I am extremely fortunate to live near a city that has really embraced the arts and wall mural movement. I spend a lot of time researching the newest works. Drive a trial run so I know where it is therefore Mark doesn’t lose his mind when I’m driving around for an hour trying to find it. Then, coordinating my looks to them. Someone on my Instagram last week commented that my pictures look like art and that was the biggest compliment. A lot of planning does go into it (in between you know like everything else I do on a daily basis). When I saw this latest piece by Chad Mize and with my new pieces from Moon River, it was a perfect 70’s match.
This crop sweater seriously goes with everything. I ordered it in a small and it fits perfectly. It has an elastic band around the bottom to help keep it in place. Whenever I see denim skirts it makes me think of the tiny micro mini skirts I used to wear in college and it makes me shudder. However, this longer button up version is something I can totally get behind. The best part it is under $25!

I always did love a good jean skirt! This outfit is so cute and perfect for that fall look with the summer weather that wont go away until November! I had to laugh when you said you were utilizing the space under your table! Sometimes you just gotta get creative. Sort of like Carrie and her shoes in the oven. Hahaha! Best wishes on the house hunting. It can be both fun and frustrating all at the same time but I just know the right one will come along for you guys!!! Then I hope you have all kinds of posts on how you are decorating it :)
I haven’t found a great denim skirt in a long time, BUT i did just get a faux suede one from the NSALE so I might have to try to find a denim one like this! Still really loving those wedges!!
I love that little cropped sweater and you are totally rocking that 70’s look! And I’m so jealous of all your fun walls- there are like 2 here in Charlotte. Meh! BUT I’m heading to Miami for Labor Day and we’re definitely going to the Wynwood Walls. Can’t wait!

WHOOO HOOO -I finally may be in trend with something – I just found my denim skirt a few weeks ago that is similar to yours :)
yes yes yes! I am loving this look so much. I need the exact one you are wearing. So cute!
YES!! I was just talking about denim skirts with a friend a few weeks ago. I was like “remember when those were in? I miss when they were in. Do you think they’ll make a comeback?” She just stared at me lol. Great outfit.
This look is so great on you! I don’t have a denim skirt in my closet but thinking I should probably snag one. And I keep resisting the urge to buy those shoes!

That person who commented that your photos are like art was so right. I know how much work goes into them. This look is totally you.

Good luck with the house hunt! Thankfully housing in Oklahoma is affordable. I imagine it is much more difficult where you live. Let’s talk about this denim skirt on you. BABE! It’s the perfect fit and length (not too long or too short).

I need a list of all your art wall finds in St Pete- you find the best ones!! That comment was right- your pictures do look like art! Good luck on the house hunt- this market is crazy!
I’m digging the jean skirt trend and love that this one is a little longer!
Love this! You are rocking that skirt and I always love the murals you find, they seriously give your pictures such an edge!
I couldn’t be more excited for jean skirts making a comeback! Love the button front detail on this one <3

Your photos really DO look like art Amanda, that’s such a great analogy. You clearly put so much time and thought into your posts, I’m always greatly impressed by what you put together. I am definitely feeling this 70s vibes, not to mention that fabulous mural. GORGEOUS!
SO in love with Moon River! Love this outfit xx
Diggin’ that 70s vibe with this cute denim skirt, Amanda!
I’m not sure how I feel about this skirt trend, because I def wore that exact same skirt in the 5th grade! But I’m not a trendy person, so there ya go. I do love that long vest though! That will go with everything!
I have had some hideous denim skirts in my days- remember when it was cool to have mini denim skirts with whiskered bleach marks and frayed hemlines? This denim is so retro classy.
you are rocking the denim skirt girl. i am definitely far too scarred from years and years of denim skirts, it will be another 10 years at least until i’m ready to wear another one. haha.
Love love!!! I really love this outfit with the long vest too. I haven’t worn a denim skirt in years, but this post makes me want to wear one again! :-)
