This was seriously the longest week ever….probably due to the fact that my job that allows me to pay my bills was mentally exhausting. Sometimes I have days where I see so many sick kiddos I get in my car and just quietly thank for the health and wellness I have in my life.
Anyways not to damper anyones spirits let’s get right into these Friday Favorites because I have fun things on the agenda this weekend. Including a family engagement party that my fabulous Aunt Dona is throwing for us. I am so excited to see some of my close family friends including my Godparents who are driving over from West Palm Beach.
Favorite Song
“Thunder Clatter” by Wild Cub. Such a fun beat! I mean it is impossible to sit still when listening to. Any runners out there this is the most perfect tempo running beat.
Favorite Recipe
Alright I am so excited. I got my first gift off my registry. Can you guess what it is??? I think my friend Karen got the clue from this taco soup post about my ancient crockpot from 1984. So in honor of my first gift it only seemed fitting to find a good crock pot recipe. Find the recipe here. It was so good and I added brown rice on the side with a layer of shredded lettuce.
Favorite Workout
I mean doesn’t Carry Underwood have the most amazing legs. Well this workout explains it all. I printed this out and did it at home and my legs were shaking like crazy halfway through. Alright I need your help. Tell me which one of these four is your favorite for the Engagement party this weekend. It is a small family party so airing on the side of Conservative. I really can’t decide please help!
Look #1. Do I go with the traditional cream peplum dress?
Look #2. Incorporate fun Spring colors with this wrap dress?
Look #3. More youthful approach with the leather detail at the shoulders? I found this Charlie Jade majorly discounted at TJMaxx. Similar here.
Speaking of Wedding related things. I also just ordered this dress. I know I said I was on a spending freeze but isn’t it just perfect for all things bridal? Plus if I wait till after Lent is over it will be gone (at least that is what I told myself to justify it…..) Why would they pair it with those black sandals? Just awful but the dress is perfect.
Oh and also because I had to spend $50 to get free shipping I may have added this….I couldn’t help it the drape reminded me of a Helmut Lang piece.
Alsothis and this because they were great staple pieces and not too expensive. Perhaps one more pair of leggings….I know it’s now become a problem.

I like 2 & 4 for the dresses. And that guy trying to jump the chain would TOTALLY BE ME. Unfortunately, something very similar to that happened to me in a harris teeter a few years back. The memory still haunts me. In other news? I definitely don’t smile like that during a workout, Miss Underwood. It’s more like this look of pure panic and distress. Whatever. She does have great legs. haha
I love all of these dresses! #1 and #2 are my favorites though!

I really really like 1 and 3! I know that is so not helpful, but they are both so amazing – I personally would wear 3 because it looks a little more comfortable :)

I would definitely go with either 1 or 2. One is nice cuz its cream (close to white..wedding appropriate), but 2 is more conservative and spring like (and you wouldnt have to worry as much about accidentally spilling something on it…it’s a major problem for me so it always stands out lol)

I love Look #2!!! That dress is awesome, and I don’t think you necessarily need white for an engagement party (personally). Close runners up are #1 and #3 though! :) have an amazing time!!!

That last gif just made me laugh out loud at my desk…people are starring haha.
Anyways, for your engagement party I’m always a fan of the bride owning the color white throughout the whole planning period. It’s the one color that you can guarantee no one else will be wearing. I once had a friend show up to her bridal shower wearing the same yellow lilly pulitzer dress as one of the guests and let’s just say she was pisseddddd.
So, I say go with the first one or the second one since it has white in it too and it’s super flattering! If you go with the white one, printed shoes or a fun color could help make it more spring-like!

White is most obviously bridal and I love peplum dresses, but if you decide to go with color, the coral is beautiful! You make them all look good though, so you can do no wrong. Milk all you can get for wearing white :) If you want to incorporate some Spring colors, do it with your accessories or have a pop of color with your shoes! That’s what I suggested for my brides.
