I am all about the gradual work up till it’s time to be bathing suit ready. Nothing like the people who are going on a cruise in 4 days……it’s probably not going to happen. So I complied a fun list for you in case you wanted to start thinking about getting ready. Then I will motivate you at the end with some bathing suits that I have my eye on for this upcoming season.

Such a great post! Girl you need to come over here and be my personal trainer and keep me from giving in to all the bad things I indulge in. I’ve been trying so hard to eat better but the occasional Reese cup or KitKat sneaks in… and the wine. Ugh, really need to cut that out because you’re totally right, wine is best with cheese and crackers! I’m going to try going meatless one day a week now! :)

Great tips! I feel like even I can master most of those- I try to drink a lot of water, but I never thought of drinking it as soon as I wake up! I’ll be looking for one of these cups tomorrow!

Gah! Love those suits! And totally agree with not drinking your calories – I learned that the hard way!

Adorable suits and excellently practical tips. I am with you on water being #1 on the list – it’s a game changer when you finally realize you’re not hungry – just thirsty! I drink my calories if they come in protein smoothie form :)

Great post, with great tips lady! Thanks for sharing! I need to rev it back up for sure.

Ahhhhh swim suit season always sneaks up on me. Don’t remind me! Trying on swim suits is just the worse thing ever! EVER!

Great tips as usual!!! I think burpees are the worst (best) invention ever!! I am really good about not snacking when I’m at work – but when I get home it’s like I’m a different person – goldfish (yes please) slice of cheese (don’t mind if I do) oh Milano cookies to go with that (DONE!) I need help lol!

Great tips! I’m always working on drinking more water!! Love that coral colored bathing suit… The top is amazing!!

Love all the tips! I’m always chugging water! The polka dot bikini is so cute!!

These are great tips! I’ve implemented a lot of these already, getting ready for my wedding in 2 months!
Ally {Life as I know it} says
These are great! My biggest offender is junk in the house. If it’s available to me it’s so hard for me to not eat it! I end throwing stuff away even if it isn’t empty just because I know I don’t need it!

Love this! Thanks for getting us motivated!

I really need to get on this. Ugh. Stupid tempting calories and carbs…

Awesome tips! I am all about the calm, rational trade-offs like these, not the crazed calorie-depriving crash diets. This is a much more realistic way to get ready for bikini season without feeling like a deprived maniac and going overboard in the end!

Great tips! I am definitely someone who does not buy sweets and junk food for the house. Not saying I never eat it, I just do in moderation and don’t keep it at home. Following the 80/20 rule, drinking tons of water and bootcamp are what works for me!

You don’t know how much I needed this post! I was *kind of* doing well with eating better and exercising and then it all went downhill and I just started using myfitnesspal again today! I’m in need of some new water bottles so I’m definitely going to look into those– they make the biggest difference in how much water I drink!

Awesome tips. YES to wine’s friends. Damn them.

good tips! i hate coffee and all of my friends tell me i should try one of the sugary drinks…eh. no. thank you. id rather not waste the $$ and drink all those calories. i’d rather EAT my calories! ;) i’ve been snaking on a lot of fruit and carrots these days :) bring on warm weather and swimsuits! xo jillian – cornflake dreams

These are all great tips and good reminders! I need to do better with water. I like the tip about chugging one down first thing when you get up! Thank God I never got hooked on Starbucks… I can’t justify the $$$ let alone the calories. A chick fil a biscuit is 440 calories and waaaaay better than a latte. I can live with one a month!

True, true and more true – and helpful – tips that I need to *remember* ha.
Jamie Vespa says
I’ve been trying to do most of these things. I already drink mostly water & black coffee in the morning, so alcohol is really my only calorie-filled liquid. And I amazed myself by resisting purchasing the Reese’s Eggs that are my demise. I will eat the entire bag in two days if they’re in my house. It’s so sad.

Those sugary drinks are the things that are the worst. Great tips!

All of these tips are so true!!! I love it. I’m doing most of these already, but could always improve! I drink so much water all the time, I feel like Im constantly peeing!!
Kelly Bierlein says
Thanks for all of the reminders! Looks like we will just be drinking wine, minus the cheese! Maybe if we put our bathing suit’s on, it will remind us not to eat bad. lol. ; )

Since I’m an unofficial alcoholic, sometimes the cutting alcohol part can be hard for me. But let me tell you what, before the last wedding I was in, because I knew there would be a lot of pictures taken, I didn’t drink for a week or two leading up to it, and I was GORGEOUS in those pictures. That trick really works!
Courtney Wilson says
Uh huh, and what did you eat today? JK! Seriously though, thanks for driving home the point about the calories and LBS.

Drinking water changed my life. I used to ONLY drink soda (and I’m not talking diet soda–we’re talking full fat full sugar). While those things never caught up to my body shape–they totally messed with my insides. I was having chronic kidney infections. Not BLADDER infections, KIDNEY infections. Hospital stays and all. During my last bout–I was in a new town with a new doctor. She sat me down and was like “I need you to be honest with me–because you’re going to die” and asked me how much water I was drinking. I never. ever. drank. water. Now it’s all I drink. I haven’t had a kidney infection since AND my skin is much happier! Not to mention I feel a lot better! I also do one (or two or three or or or) meatless days. I don’t actually mean to do it–I just don’t love meat all that much. Great tips, friend!

Love LOVE this post! As you know, I’m heading to Vegas in four short weeks. While I finally decided to invest in a personal trainer 2 x times a week to kick my ass in gear (literally) I am failing in the kitchen. Not only do I regularly skip breakfast but when I do make time for it..it’s usually in the form of a Venti Vanilla Latte. BAD BAD!
This post is going to be a serious reminder for not slaking in the next month!
xo, jen

Starbucks is definitely the one thing that totally gets me. I’d probably be 10 pounds lighter if it wasn’t for all the coffee I drink. I’m getting better, though! :)

Ha this post is so needed in my life right now! I might start and end with bathing suit shopping. Start to scare myself into a diet and end to reward my healthy behavior!
