Products That Are Totally BFF’s

You know when you buy a product and you’re like sweet this works great, love it but then when you use it with either the tool it is supposed to be applied with or another holy grail type of applicator and now you’re like……mind blown.  That is how I feel about these products that are totally great by themselves but added with their BFF and now they are a serious doubt threat.

I totally was a NYX concealer (medium) kind of gal and don’t get me wrong it does the job beautifully and for under $5.  Then I used my Sephora coupon and went for the NARS concealer that B raved about and I do love it.  I am the Custard color.  Universal color for most.  My next project is to do a side by side and length of wear comparison because concealer is one thing that I do have to buy a few times a year.  Once you add the airbrush concealer brush you will feel like how did you ever apply concealer with your fingers before? Oh and it has the most perfect cap to keep the brush clean.

     +

Nars concealer |  Sephora Airbrush Concealer #57

I have been using this little trifecta of fun for the past month and it honestly gives my latest airbrush makeup trial a run for its money.  The MUFE in the green primer does an amazing job taking all the redness out of your face.  Make sure you let it dry for a few minutes.  Then you just need a tiny amount of the YSL foundation applied with the brush and hello flawless skin.  I use B30 (reference point).  Now if I can just find my receipt for the individual brushes that I bought I am totally getting the entire set. Seriously such a steal!
++
MUFE HD Microperfecting Primer |   YSL Fusion Ink Foundation  |  Pro Airbrush Foundation Brush

I’m no pro at contouring but with these tools it does make it a little easier.  Cara’s post is my holy grail for instructions.  Use the Elf brush (it’s 3 bucks I seriously have like 4 of them) right under your cheek line straight to your ear.  Then use the fluffy brush to frame the outside of your face and blend. I used to be a BareMinerals bronzer fanatic but after I got my mini sample of laguna I now see what the cult favorite is all about.

 ++

Elf Angled Brush  |    NARS Laguna  |  Airbrush Bronzer Brush

I know I sound like a broken record but the YSL glossy stains are the best lipgloss stains that exist.  I mean what red do you know stays shiny, isn’t drying and won’t transfer onto your wineglass?  Then when it fades it does so naturally and does’t leave that weird outer red lip liner thing.  I know they are pricey but I have had my holy grail red (#9 rouge laque) for like a year now and besides losing it in a clutch here and there it is still kicking.  My two new favorite neutral colors are N 107 Naughty Mauve and N 106 Beige Anarchist.  Great investment!  Added with the Peter Thomas Roth lip cream absolute perfection!  It helps with those dry winter lips and gives a really nice fullness.  I have been putting it on every night and morning and I really notice the difference!

+

Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle |   YSL Glossy Stains

Holy grail eyelash curler (even though they can be scary) with my new favorite mascara equals lash perfection.
+
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler  |  YSL Babydoll mascara
If you want eyeliner that would stay on if you went swimming in a pool and then got out and rubbed your eyes but then still will wash off with face wash then here you go.  My ultimate black eyeliner pencil.
+
Urban Decay Lid Primer | Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Perversion

To finish off that airbrushed look and then set it.  The Urban Decay setting spray is for real.  I mean it held up my makeup during our engagement pictures in the FL heat and was literally budge proof.  I am a believer.

                  +

NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder |  Urban Decay Setting Spray

Finally for those strong nails!  You’ve heard my talk before about how strong prenatals make your hair and nails.
+
Target Brand Prenatal Vitamins | Nail Strengthen
Well there you have it my favorite dynamic duos and trios.  Have you ever discovered how much better a product works when applied with a certain brush or product combo?  Tell me your product besties!  A lot of these would be great stocking stuffers just saying….. You know you want to follow me on Bloglovin so you can keep up with all these informative BFF posts right?  xoxoxoxo
p.s LOFT aka Lou & Grey is having a flash sale 50% off + free shipping with the code WRAPIT.  They never have free shipping…..like literally their $8.95 shipping is the worst! Now is the time to get these leggings I was raving about and this sweater!

    love this post idea. i feel the same way about foundation + the bare minerals brush. that thing is so soft. some of my bristles started falling out so i zoomed to sephora and was like THIS IS NOT OKAY. they gave me a new one in 2 seconds. no questions. god i love it. and thank you for reminding me to take my prenatals!

    Well isn’t this just the most brilliant beauty post ever! I’m not a big beauty girl, but I did learn to contour a few months ago and it was a total game changer. I love a good primer and really need to get another shadow primer. I have like no eye lids when I close my eyes so it always gets in my crease and clumps. Love this girl!

    This was so great! I have the NARS concealer on my Christmas list – fingers crossed. I was actually at Costco yesterday and they have YSL lip stains there for only $28! I’m kicking myself for not picking one up… I may go back later, ha!

    I’ve heard people rave about concealer brushes before, but I haven’t taken the plunge to get one… Thinking that may go on my Christmas list now though because concealer is the only thing I wear every single day. Gotta cover up those under eye circles, stat! That lip stain looks gorg too…

    This is such a great post idea, I love it! Once I started using a fluffy brush for concealer it literally changed everything – they blend like a dream, and in no time. Sometimes in the winter I’ll apply the product first with my fingers to warm it up to skin temperature, but I’m guessing that since you’re in Florida you never have the problem haha.
