Wedding Wednesday – The Rehearsal Dinner
March 4, 2015I thought it would be fun for a little while to do some Wedding Wednesday posts. That way I can still keep things lively with shopping posts and random musings with pretty wedding posts mixed in. So let’s track back and talk about the start of the Wedding week. Oh first let’s talk about this teaser my photographer tagged me in yesterday. I cannot wait to see more!!! Warning this is a picture heavy post.
I took the entire week off before the wedding and taught my barre classes in a veil and garter, it was such a blast! Tuesday I tried to organize and layout all my clothes, outfits, accessories, etc and I am happy to report that I didn’t forget a single thing. I headed down to my parents house and hung out with my sisters who came in town. Then over to my fabulous Aunt’s house for a lingerie shower. First there were nutella martinis which were so needed since I had just gotten off the phone with my DJ (remember the Tyra Banks horror). There were beautiful gifts including some vintage pieces from my Aunt that were truly one of a kind including a rare Schiaparelli piece. I mean of course there was.
The little one tried on her dress for us and twirled.
After being spoiled completely my family, my sister and I headed to the Sandpearl spa for some further pampering. That is when it happened…..(clearly this is supposed to be a funny).
The rehearsal dinner space that I have been showing you all the beautiful sunsets from every update I can…..well that night it was supposed to drop down into the 30’s. Outside……on the water…..no heaters could help that. Luckily our Rehearsal dinner spot (the Riverhouse Grill) which was so fantastic cannot sing enough praises…….they moved us into the Crow’s Nest. It is a private room on top of the restaurant with big beautiful windows that we got to enjoy sunsets just like this.
Let’s back track. I started off my morning by driving out to see my fabulous friend Jesse who is also my hair dresser. Any local peeps if you need a recommendation she is amazing! She touched up my color and sent me off with this fabulous do’
I came home to surprise Mark with my sweet locks. Helped him pack……we won’t even discuss, then packed up the car to head down to Sarasota for the rehearsal. Every single chance I got…….I made sure I practiced walking down those stairs. (See it was cold! Leather jacket to prove!)
I snapped this gorgeous shot right before I walked down. I mean can this venue be anymore gorgeous???
My sister forgot my mock bridal bouquet made from all the bows from my shower. We won’t hold it against her. Luckily I had something pretty I could hold in my hand.
I had to include this one…..it’s a fabulous hair shot. That’s not Mark…..don’t be confused it’s his younger brother who gave quite the toast at the wedding. That will be carried under a separate post. It was good don’t worry…..no youtube videos off it or anything. Side note since it was freezing I sent my sister to….you guessed it Target and she snagged those tights for me on sale. I have worn them like 5 times since!
The blonde brigade. Mark’s brother always camera ready. That million dollar smile clearly runs in the family.
From there it was onto the rehearsal dinner in 6 pm traffic. Another joyous time. We got there just in time to see the amazing sunset. Let’s skillfully ignore the ketchup bottle and instead focus on the by word written out menu that I made the night before with all my pretty custom blog fonts……add it to the list right? Shout outs to my mother and Aunt who whipped up gorgeous center pieces at a moments notice.
My little was a fabulous photographer thank you so much for taking all these great family shots! Here my brother who is currently sporting the long European ponytail look. British football player if you will. My amazing mother who planned my whole wedding just about with my sister who just got the most fab keratin treatment. Those straight locks don’t lie.
My fabulous Aunt who also made all the Wedding magic happen with my mother. My sister in law Kristine.
I tried to get some pics with my love in front of the beautiful sunset. Here is my come hither for a picture look apparently.
We had an absolutely fabulous time. There was lots of speeches, great food and lots of adult libations. For those of you who know me I’m really not a big drinker. So the fact this happened at the end of the night……definitely we were celebrating!
The night was finished off with this stunner.
It was quite the start to the wedding festivities! Check back next week on Wednesday for more wedding updates! I hope you are having a fabulous week! xoxoxoxoxo

That sunset is gorgeous!!
Hopefully the cold snap came and went before your actual wedding. That happened at her rehearsal in Orlando last year. We were standing there during the wedding rehearsal freezing our tails off, and the next day gorgeous weather.
Gorgeous centerpieces (props to your mom) and sunsets!
Looking forward to more of your wedding posts. :)

I would have practiced those stairs until I could walk them backwards in my sleep! So impressed!
Pamela {Sequins and Sea Breezes} says
That sunset could not have been any more perfect! Glad your rehearsal dinner spot was awesome and moved you guys inside. I can’t imagine being out on the water in the 30’s. I was so worried for you when I saw how low the temps were dropping! And I don’t blame you for practicing on those stairs but you looked SO graceful coming down them. It either definitely paid off or you didn’t need the practice! Can’t wait to hear more about it! :)

Such a great night to kick off the wedding festivities!! Even though you guys had to be moved inside, that sunset was beautiful regardless of where it was seen from!!! I was praying for you with the weather – cold is not something you plan for in Florida!! I’m so glad everything went off smoothly…did I ever tell you one of Gary’s groomsmen broke his leg coming down the same stairs I was having my first look on right before we left for the rehearsal dinner?! OYE! xo, Biana – BlovedBoston

So our rehearsal dinner was like a dream – we were having so much fun and everyone was making speeches and it was awesome…til my stepmother made the most horrible speech regarding my MIL’s cancer and everyone went silent. Thankfully that was at the end…
