How many times do you hear this, you must get at least 45-60 minutes in of exercise every single day? Well for the people who feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day…..sparing those precious hours to exercise, for most of us, the first thing to hit the chopping block is the exercise. I’m going to share with you my ways to fit in exercise on a daily basis. I have been so crazy with work lately that making an hour class sometimes doesn’t happen. So I’m going to share the secret with you for getting in that 45-60 minutes of exercise.
That’s right. You don’t have to commit to it all at once. 15 minutes here and there, throughout the day and you are done.
Do a yoga sequence to get your stretching and mindfulness. Or do a quick burst to get your heart pumping and sweat on. I have been doing this burner in the morning that I just put together. Feel free to repeat up to 3 times with a 2 minute break in between.
Have a way to track this. I use fitness apps on my phone and now I have a fitbit challenge going with a few of you! Want to join?? Hit me up! I even went for a run outside last night because my fitbit doesn’t count my barre classes as steps and I can’t keep letting my sister school me every day.
Can’t get outside? Do you have stairs in your building? Sometimes I’ll do squats or a few barre exercises at my desk if I can’t escape outside in order to find creative ways to fit in exercise.
If you are lucky enough to fit in a class or workout after your day, my number one rule is back your clothes. If you go home….it’s not going to happen. The other thing I have started to incorporate is an accountable workout partner. “AMANDA MEET ME AT 545 BARRE CLASS”…..that definitely helps you stay accountability and on track. If that doesn’t happen do your quick workout right when you get home. The minute you sit on the couch it’s over. Which leads me to my next point.
Those are the ways the serial always busy person over here gets those minutes in your ways to fit in exercise. At the end of the day it’s not about “being skinny” it’s about exercising your heart and staying healthy. Plus, that mid day break really helps clear your head and get you back into a better mindset for your job. What ways do you try to incorporate exercise into your daily life?
