I love plaid dresses! And that bag! Girl you look gorgeous!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Labor Day weekend. I cannot believe how fast that long weekend went! I had such a wonderful time catching up with my family, soaking up Sarasota sunsets, spending quality time with Mark and a quick jaunt over to hang out with some wizards in Hogawarts. Getting the year pass to Universal was so worth it. If you follow me on snapchat (@meetatthebarre) you definitely got a glimpse into that fab weekend. Now that Fall is underwear and Football is starting, I am so ready for the transition to Fall clothes. One of the trends the is back this year and I am still majorly digging, is plaid dresses.
I’m also digging backpacks and bought one the Elizabeth and James sling bags but that is a post for a different date. So when I kept on seeing plaid surfacing up it made me think of the days my mother put me in plaid skirts with matching bows. I had to move past those visuals and think of all the fab ways to style it. What I love about this particular dress is it works for the right now temps but when it really cools down, add some thick tights, booties and maybe even this vest or this coat? I have a feeling I will be wearing this dress on major repeat. I can’t decide which BB Dakota plaid dress color I like it better in.
Dress here || save version here || booties here I found a few size left on major sale here || sunnies here || purse LV here
Here are a few other plaid pieces that are on my radar. Loving this plaid skirt, this Madewell shirt will be worn on major repeat. This shift dress would look amazing with a leather jacket over and booties. I am so in love with the Joie plaid dresses. This one is half off.
Next can I even tell you how much I am in love with these booties? The leather is so soft and they are insanely comfortable. Like, walk miles in these. You can wear them with dresses, skinnies or skirts.
They are sold out but here is the newest version or the complete Dolce Vita booties for the Fall. How unbelievable are the heels on this pair?
So what do y’all think? Are you totally digging plaid dresses for the Fall? If you don’t like the dresses how would you wear it? I hope you are having a good week! xoxoxo

Obsessed with plaid for fall! That dress is too cute. I’m obsessed with that Joie one, so perfect!

I like the way you wore this dress. I don’t think I would have ever thought to even try on a plaid dress, but you did it well!

I mean the post was about plaid – but all I could think about was the purse – you know how much I love it!! The shoes are fantastic and that plaid dress is awesome!! I really do love plaid :) xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
Love the booties!
Bring on the plaid! Love this dress and it’ll look so cute paired with tall boots for fall!
Such a fabulous dress – and those booties! Love! <3
Must. Have. Everything. I am in love with this plaid dress, it looks perfect on you! And I have been coveting this bag for a while now… you are making me want it even more now!
I love that you are wearing a dress that we have at Evereve!! Totally going to be a nerd and show this to my girls at work haha. The one in the Nordstrom link is the exact one that we have too. It’s a great dress and when I put it on a mannequin I just threw a chunky/cozy cardigan over it and booties for shoes. Speaking of booties, LOVE your booties!! And all of the booties in your collage. :-)
Hope that you had a fun weekend and that you have a great day today!! :-)
I’m in LOVE with that dress. BB Dakota is such a great brand, too.
And ok… I think you’ve convinced me that I need some booties like those. Gorgeous.
I love the plaid dress on you! And I love them in theory… But I’m too tall and it just looks like I was confused and I’m wearing a shirt as a dress. Seriously, haven’t found one remotely long enough yet! If I ever do, I’ll totally snatch it up! Until then, I’ll stick to plaid shirts. Which, btw, I’m still totally looking for a preggo one. The hunt is ON. And all of those booties are winning. All of them.
Well hello Mr. Louis, I was excited to see you finally surface on the blog. (; So I’m sitting here wondering if I can pull off this trend. I feel like you have to have the “attitude” to go with the plaid dress. I may look strange, but I’m not apposed to trying. (;
I saw your backpack on Snapchat! So stinking cute!
Love the plaid! I just snagged a dress last week that I can’t wait to wear!

I love that dress! And the pics! And your Snaps haha! I swear once I get a new phone I’m on a mission to send more Snapchats. My current phone’s battery dies so quickly that I can hardly check the weather without it going kaput.
P.S. – I changed my blog name to carly blogs!
Shirt/shift dress + plaid = my dream come true. You look so casual but polished and put together! Those shoes also look ridiculously comfortable. Great post, lady!
LOVE plaid, I just don’t take advantage of the fabulous trend. I did when I was young but now I fail to actually purchase anything, haha. I need that dress, you look amazing. Will it make me look amazing too?
I love all things plaid and that dress is no exception. Except here I’d probably have to wear it with leggings or tights as it will be way too cold for dresses. :)
Obsessed with this deep red/crimson color for fall and it’s perfect in a plaid dress! I have these booties and cannot wait to wear them, I wish the weather would start cooperating! Happy Tuesday!
A Blonde’s Moment
SO cute–especially with those booties!

this is so so cute! perfect transition piece for Fall!
That dress is absolutely fabulous!!!! I have always been a fan of plaid but it never seems to make it in my wardrobe. Maybe I shall change that this season! I am going to be down your way next week for work…but I think they have our itinerary completely booked :( That happened last year too!!! I really want to check out Disney and Universal and meet all of you fabulous FL girls!

I vote yes for plaid dresses, too!! Love this one! And so funny/random that it is $6 cheaper at Nordstrom than Shopbop haha
this looks so cute on you! i only just (like, yesterday) bought my first plaid shirt because i never thought they were very ‘me’. darn pinterest kept showing me cute plaid outfits, so i hope it’s ‘me’ lol
I almost bought all of the plaid shirts at Target today. You totally read my mine. And legs!!!
I’m loving this plaid trend, I’ve slowly been seeing it pop up and love how you styled this. It super simple, but screams Fall. Comfortable booties…sign me up!! Loving that you’re still rocking that OPI shade ;)!!

I actually just ordered myself a plaid dress from Old Navy… I hope it’s as cute as yours!! You’re rocking this look and love those booties!!
I love the oversized t-shirt style plaid dresses like this! They are super cute. When it gets colder I add some leggings and boots!

Love the dress and you have amazing legs!! Love those booties too! I just ordered a really cheap pair of black ankle boots on Amazon. Mainly because I probably won’t wear them too often. I’m anxious to see what they look like in person lol. xo Love the cut of the betsey johnson dress!
That dress is so fab! I love anything plaid and cannot wait to start wearing it. Now, if the weather will just get cooler.
I love plaid because it reminds me of my school days but I don’t actually own not one thing that is plaid. Maybe I need to go shopping now lol.
Man, plaid just screams “fall.” I’ve never considered wearing a plaid dress before though! I love the RAILS Nadine button down dress above… thanks for sharing so many great product links!
