Flare Jeans Are Back – Complete Shopping Guide

Happy Wednesday.  I have been patiently waiting the arrival of my SHOPBOP purchases from the big sale going on right now.  Make sure to check my snapchat (@meetatthebarre) to see all the fab finds.  In all my searches around town for blog inspiration, I drove by this mural and immediately knew what I wanted to do with it.  I also wanted to give mural credit to hoxxoh you can also follow him on instagram.  Such beautiful local art right?  I had filled y’all in on my previous Fall trends post that flare jeans are back.  I am rather picky about the fit and tried on no lie 10 pairs at Nordstrom until I found the perfect pair.  I had a very patient gal helping me that is for sure. I narrowed it down finally to this pair by Hudson, mainly due to the rinse and fit.  They aren’t over the top 70’s start breaking out the braided belts kind of flares but a more tapered and then tasteful let out.

70's flares. Dark rinse high waisted Hudson Jeans Flares.

Flare Jeans Are Back

How to wear them you ask?  Well, lots of different ways.  What I liked about this pair is that it has two front pockets which allows you to tuck shirts in and still give some coverage in the front.  They are just high waisted enough, without being those terrible mom shorts length that all the youths are wearing.  C’mon you know what I’m talking about!  Can we start a petition or something to have those never be worn again?  I picked up this top from Free People which hits right at the perfect line to the high waist of the flare jeans.

Sizing guide tip!  These run big.  I’m usually a dead on 28 in all jeans and I sized down to a 26.  I mean……way to make a gal feel good.  I also found this dead ringer under $30 pair if you don’t want to full commit to the trend.  Like you want to dip a toe into the flare trend without financially committing to it yet.  I mean how spot on are they?  I have been hounding the website and they just came up.  I guarantee they are going to sell out quickly so jump on them.

I love the back of this top.  You can wear it with a tank or a fun lace bralette (I picked it up from the sale).

Braid tutorial will be up soon!  No extensions.  I had that question on instagram the other day.  I don’t have a length and style number.  I have been loving this gradual more natural color lately.  As I know my mother does as well.

So what are you thoughts?  Are you excited to kick out the skinnies for a little while?  I didn’t think I would be as on board with this but it was so fun to switch it up to the flare jeans from the regular tight leggings.  All of these pieces are included in the SHOPBOP sale!  It continues until the 15th tomorrow so jump on it!

I woke up this morning to see my picture had been picked up by LIKEtoKNOWit!!

Totally loving the back of your shirt but unfortunately I am not excited about flares. They’re cute on some people but I just don’t feel like I can pull them off! Sticking with my skinny jeans for sure! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

Love the wall where you took these photos – it’s pretty perfect for a flared jeans post – very 70s chic!! I really love that I kept my pair of flared jeans from like 8 years ago because wouldn’t you know they are back in style now LOL! The back of your blouse is amazing! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

  3. October 14, 2015 / 6:55 AM

I think you picked the perfect background to talk about flare jeans! What beautiful pictures!!

  4. October 14, 2015 / 6:59 AM

Flare jeans don’t fit us short girls right. You are lucky girl because those jeans are fucking CUTE! I love me some flare jeans. It’s all I wore in high school. If I can find a dope ass pair that would look great on me while being short, I’ll totally buy.

  5. October 14, 2015 / 7:34 AM

This wall couldn’t be more perfect for the post! I love flare jeans and am so glad they’re back on trend!

  6. October 14, 2015 / 7:37 AM

I love flare jeans, but being short just doesn’t work with them! I’ll be sticking with the boot cuts and skinnies unless I can find a pair that somehow makes me look taller and skinnier ;) Lol!! Love the look on you though, girlfriend! xo

I can’t decide if I’m excited about flares or not…I liked them last time they were in. YOU totally rock them, however

  8. October 14, 2015 / 8:25 AM

Flare and bootcut are definitely back. Love it. I feel like they are so flattering! Love your top too!

  9. October 14, 2015 / 8:40 AM

Bummer about that. You look amazing in them. I do not. :P

  10. October 14, 2015 / 8:46 AM

The backdrop for these photos is absolutely PERFECT! No wonder you got featured. Sadly, flares are just… Not perfect. At all. I cannot. People in the Midwest haven’t stopped wearing them period, and most normal people wore them regularly until 2007… Not enough time has passed for the trend to come back. Nope. But that wall and your pics are SO PRETTY!

  11. October 14, 2015 / 8:46 AM

i’m so glad flares (and boot cut) are back – they are the most flattering on me! bye skinny jeans (to the back of the closet)

Looking fabulous!!! Those jeans do fit you very well, and those pockets are perfect! Sorry, got into work mode there.. On my day off too!! Haha. Anyway!! That top is really pretty too, and you are right about Hudson’s, always size down!! :-) Thanks for sharing and I hope that you have a great day!!

  13. October 14, 2015 / 9:20 AM

SO excited to kick out the skinnies for awhile. Flare jeans are sexxxxay and make legs looks long and beautiful.

  14. October 14, 2015 / 9:43 AM

Love this look on you! The background in the photo is awesome!

  15. October 14, 2015 / 9:58 AM

My cousin was asking me the other day if I was going to buy a pair of flares. I’m just not sure about it, I love my skinnies so much…maybe with the right top though!

  16. October 14, 2015 / 11:41 AM

Love this look!!!! I for one am ecstatic that the flare is coming back!!! It never really left for me, as I was sporting my boot cut jeans all last year to switch up from the skinnies. Dancing in to skinnies every day was bad for my emotional state LOL. Love that top you picked! And congrats on getting picked up by LIKEtoKNOWIT! How exciting!

  17. October 14, 2015 / 12:04 PM

This is me crying because I can’t, for the life of me, wear flares. I have really short legs. On top of that, they are freakishly skinny. If I wear flares, my legs disappear. haha Oh well, I admire the fashion trend! (: You rock these!

  18. October 14, 2015 / 12:50 PM

Gorgeous photos, girlfriend! I am still on the hunt for the perfect fitting pair of flared jeans, too – I may have to try these or your cheaper alternative out. Congrats on the Instagram shoutout, too – you so deserve it!

  19. October 14, 2015 / 1:34 PM

That wall is fantastic! I have a pair of very small flares from years ago that I kept. But not sure if I can get back into the trend. Especially now carrying around a big belly. I feel like I’ll look a bit…off. But you are rocking those jeans, and that top.

  20. October 14, 2015 / 1:58 PM

This was the perfect location to take these photos! You pull of the flare jeans so well.

  21. October 14, 2015 / 3:29 PM

This is everything! I was so excited when I saw LTK posted you! That picture is amazing!! Gorgeous girl rocking those flares!

  22. October 14, 2015 / 4:22 PM

Look at you all model and professional here! Daaang! ;) That mural wall is seriously perfect though for this outfit. And your hair makes me miss my long locks already! Anyways, about the jeans… I used to be a hippie child with all the love for the flare. And since I’m a hoarding and have convinced myself that someday I’ll fit back into those high school jeans, I still have some! So I just might have to whip a pair out sometime and see if I’m still feeling it! ;)

  24. October 14, 2015 / 10:23 PM

Seriously stunning pictures! No wonder Like.to.know.it picked them up! I looked at these first at 3:30 AM (nursing my baby) and was blown away! I am so happy the flare is back. I am pulling out all my old favorite ones that I haven’t worn since skinnies came in a few years ago. I also wanted to thank you for checking out my blog. Your response to my last comment was so sweet! I don’t know how you find time to do it all. I am always blown away by your responding to all the comments so promptly and your editorial calendar!
