Holiday Workout Playlist

December 8, 2015

I realized something over this past holiday.  I did not work out the way I should have.  I then came back and tried to get right into my regular routine of teaching and working out, then you know what happened?  I hurt my back the first day back.  I was sitting in a car for hours, sitting in a chair at Panera for over 8 hours (due to my key debacle of Thanksgiving 2015) and I was not exercising.  I was teaching class on Monday night and after adjusting someones form in seat work, I felt a pop in my back that immediately radiated down to my toes.

Holiday Workout Playlist

It was completely my fault.  I took way too much time off over the holiday and expected my body to just jump right back into the routine.  I swear once you hit 30, your body does not bounce back that quickly especially after you calorie soaked it with dairy and wine.  My game plan for this month is to exercise at least four times a week between barre classes, at home workouts and running.

I am going to get my Fitbit Charge HR up and running again to start a challenge.  Who wants in?

To help with this, I’ve made a high energy workout playlist.  Found some great at home workouts and I signed up for our studios Pure Barre Challenge, 15 classes in 31 days.

To stay accountable I am going to track my progress here since I have lots of you who will kick my butt if I fall off.  I am going to stay healthy this December and not let any holiday laziness creep up.

Here are some great workouts I found!

This one burns so badly! 10 minute booty blogilates

This is a great 20 minute one to do when you travel. I actually did this one when we got to Atlanta over the past weekend. No equipment needed.

Even though it’s not bathing suit season currently, this workout is still perfect for squeezing into the skinny leggings.

10 Minute Booty workout.

Best Upper body workout hands down

Tabata 10 minute fat burner workout.

Naturally to help motivate, cute workout clothes always help.  I’m all about those mesh insert details right now.  LnA and KORAL activewear are two of my favorite lines right now. MICHI has really perfected the whole barre to bar concept.  I have been also loving my S’well bottle it really does live up to the hype of keeping water cold all day long.  Even sitting in my car in Florida, it’s still cold.  Craziness. Favorite Workout Gear with SHOPBOP. Favorite line by KORAL and MICHI. Barre to bar wear!

I always love workouts that don’t require equipment and can be done when traveling! Perfect for the craziness of the holidays when a consistent gym schedule is hard to nail down!

I’m so sorry about your back girl!! I hope that you feel better soon. I woke up on Sunday with HORRIBLE knee pain but thankfully it went away after I took an Advil. Welcome to your thirties… :-/ I have been working out as much as I can though and eating healthy. Minus the chips that I devoured yesterday at my parents… haha. Saving those workout videos though for the days when I can’t get to the gym because of work or some other commitment. Thanks for sharing lady!! :-)

You picked some killer workouts. I’ll all about the booty and lower body these days, with what I can still do.

See I did the opposite – I worked out like an animal over the holiday and STILL GAINED A POUND! Talk about discouraging!

It’s like you read my mind – I am working on a work out post rightaswespeak/type. Thanksgiving was brutal and I completely threw my back out trying to work out last week! Cue asking a seven year to put the hot/cold patches on it for me. I’m right there with you!!!

I totally needed this motivating push today, thank you! These at-home workouts look killer – I can’t wait to try the bikini arms and VS Model workouts.

I’ve just switched gyms to one with a pool and it’s crazy how much more I look forward to my workouts when it involves a swim. I’m really hoping to keep up the momentum through the holidays! Now looking up to see if waterproof headphones exist…

Awesome tips! And I spy “pretzel day” in one of those videos! I love that Bar Method always has a 30 day unlimited special for Cyber Monday so I can go to class all month in December for a super low price. Since I go at lunch, it’s a great way to keep myself accountable during this insanely busy time of year. And these videos are awesome, I could definitely use the bikini arm and shoulders one!
