Favorite Valentine’s Look

I never really loved Valentine’s Day in the past.  I was single for a long time and even when I was in a relationship, it always felt like an excuse for restaurants to jack up their rates and inevitably the service was bad due to the influx of people going out.  However, now I love the month of February since it is our Wedding anniversary month.  We are coming up on one year, can you believe that?  I feel like I was just picking out bridesmaids dresses and now we booked our quick weekend away to celebrate our one year.  Our bigger trip is planned for the Summer but we are officially going to San Francisco and Napa for our actual one year.  I will take all suggestions please!

Red is my favorite power color.  Something about a bold lip color to go along with that pop of red.  Therefore, this is definitely a great excuse to break out that favorite dress or top for the occasion even if that occasion is drinking wine at home in your best pair of stretch pants right?

This is my favorite dress because it looks super high end and it was totally affordable.  I am going to bring it to San Fran with me but definitely will be pair it with tights and a coat since the weather is going to be cold!

Love this shade of red for Valentines as it’s kind of pinky rather than the classic Christmas red. Enjoy San Fran, can’t wait to hear all about it. I’m hoping to go there in September x

Jason went all out for our first Valentine’s Day together, bit he definitely spent way too much! This year, we’re going to the Lightning game, which since we’re both so busy, is like a treat and we’ll grab drinks before and it will be a good night. I can’t believe your one year is coming up!

This dress is PERFECT! I’ll be home with my three boys so no fancy wear required for me, but hopefully we’ll cook something nice, the kids will go down early, and a few adult bevvies will be had! Where are you staying in San Fran? Text me and I’ll give you a few restaurant options! Love that city. I have Napa winery recs too! I just need a min to think of the names… Really, you can’t go wrong. I haven’t been to one out there that I was disappointed with.

  25. January 27, 2016 / 11:31 AM

I love that dress! I have never been a fan of V day, even when I was in love the last two. It’s too overhyped. Napa sounds so fun! It is on my list, never been. Can’t wait for the recap!

  28. January 27, 2016 / 12:46 PM

I never was big on the holiday but any excuse to wear red had me happy!!! This is my first Valentine’s day as a married couple so I’m excited to spend it with my husband! =)

  29. January 27, 2016 / 1:14 PM

Ohhh what a fun trip you guys have planned!!! I love that red dress, so pretty with the lace! And those shoes are pretty darn cute too and so versatile! I am not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day but we got engaged on February 19th so I do like to think of that as a reason to celebrate. I always make homemade lasagna for vday and we stay in.

  30. January 27, 2016 / 1:25 PM

Oh I love the lace details! But I’m with you..Valentine’s Day has never really been a favorite!

  31. January 27, 2016 / 1:36 PM

Gorgeous dress! I’m a fan of anything lace and I especially love the cap sleeves. Nice choice pairing it with nude shoes. Looks great!

  32. January 27, 2016 / 1:39 PM

How fun that you’re going to San Fran and Napa! I’m so jealous, that’s on our list of places to visit. This dress looks stunning on you – red is such a power color for blondes, right?!

  35. January 27, 2016 / 2:30 PM

Oh my goodness, you are too cute for words! That dress, those shoes, and your makeup are sheer perfection. Thanks for including links to similar looks. I love getting dressed up, even if I’m staying at home with my husband : ) Congrats on your upcoming 1 year anniversary! My family just got back from Napa and have been there several times. I’ll see if they have any great suggestions for you.

  36. January 27, 2016 / 4:26 PM

That dress is perfection! I love lace dresses and in red, it’s show stopping. I liked Napa, but we loved Sonoma better actually. If you have time to venture there do it. The downtown is so cute and quaint. And while in Napa go to the Oxbow Public Market. It has some restaurants, little merchants, and an amazing cupcake shop. So good!

  37. January 27, 2016 / 5:16 PM

Red lace perfection! I’m bummed this one is sold out because I love the top of the sleeve, but I’m digging the 3/4 length sleeve version!

  38. January 27, 2016 / 6:56 PM

Yeahh those heels are PERFECT with that lace dress! You are beautiful! NO WAY. 1 year already!?!?!? That doesn’t seem possible!!

  39. January 28, 2016 / 8:10 AM

Absolutely gorgeous!! This was the exact dress I wore for graduation (except in purple), I’m obsessed! I seriously want it in like 5 more colors because it fits so well and is so flattering. Stunning!

  40. January 28, 2016 / 11:34 AM

I love this whole look!! I really want to buy myself a pretty lace dress! Maybe I’ll see if I can find a pink one to wear for Valentine’s and my SIL’s upcoming bridal shower!

  41. January 28, 2016 / 3:35 PM

Red is my favorite power color too! I can see myself wearing literally ALL of these dresses (I wore a similar one to a wedding last year with red lips– bam!) Lovee this round up!

  42. January 30, 2016 / 9:22 PM

That color is GORGEOUS on you. I’m not really into the Valentine’s Day thing… or at least going out. Celebrating at home is way, way, way more my style. Speaking of – I need to figure something out for my husband! I can’t believe it’s already almost been a year since you were married!! Crazy!!
