So I know it is like very old fashioned that Mark and I aren’t living together yet (I have my opinions about living together while dating but we won’t go there today). The truth is we are both professionals that had our own lives before we met and it just hasn’t happened yet. Until now. Jan 1st to be exact. My “assignment” now every night when I come home from work has been to pack so I will be ready when that moving truck comes at the end of the month. Mark has been at home getting all his after work stuff done so he’s not here to distract me. My parents graciously dropped off boxes and bubble wrap (popping it never gets old).
Sooooooo what have I done every single night instead of packed you may ask? Well let me tell you.
Binge Watched Gilmore Girls. I’m almost done with Season 2.
Eat things out of my freezer that are still half frozen because I don’t have the time or patience to wait for them to thaw. Hence the Costco Carrot Cake Cupcakes reference from the other day. I mean I stuck it in the microwave and half the frosting melted off. It tasted like heaven.
Meticulously tabbed my Nordstrom Holiday Guide
Watched Barefoot Blonde Hair tutorials. Tried my hand at this one. Think I nailed it. Ponder about adding it to my possible Wedding hairstyles. (Please try to ignore my very dirty hair).
Blogged…..naturally
Answered emails
Followed by eating these. Yeah buddy. They were amazing.
Realized in horror there were 6 servings in that bag…..
Did some Facebook stalking. Oh I didn’t know he had two kids with two different girls…..interesting….
Stalked y’alls blogs.
Made a holiday wish list. Then laughed about how it wasn’t going to happen. Mixers and silverware are in your future my dear not this fabulous rose gold cuff. I want full details Lindsay!
Tried to take a gel manicure off by myself. That was a bad idea. Realized that not having two hands for 10 minutes was torture. Realized I was addicted to social media. Tried to palliate myself with gilmore girls. The grandmother is the best part in my opinion.
Finished grading papers and answering angry student emails who like to use ALL CAPS when talking to their professor apparently.
Ponder what is wrong with the youths of today.
Open my fridge and realize all I have is wine and hearts of palm (the two pack from Costco).
Use these Un-Wrinkle Peel pads. Amazing.
Take pictures and post to instagram. Loved getting my holiday cards from B and Mree!
FaceTime my sister and her kids.
Drank wine and pin.
Then pin some more.
Spend hours finding gifs for my Friday Favorites post. Like this little gem. Honestly what the…..is going on here.
Start watching bpm videos on youtube and design an entire spin class….even though I don’t teach spin anymore. Well while I’m at it might as well write down my barre class for tomorrow.
You want to know what I didn’t do.
You guessed it.
Pack.
Well I did pack up my wine glasses and moved my little over the toilet standing drawer set that houses 1/3 of my products. So I will call that a success.
Sorry mom I love you and thank you for helping me this upcoming weekend after I totally swindled asked you to come to my dress fitting/alterations and then to help me pack afterwards. I promise I’ll buy some food so I don’t feed you salad with croutons on it again and call it dinner!

I am sitting here cracking up considering I basically just went through the same thing before we moved into our house. It was right around that time that I decided I wanted to start watching Once Upon a Time on Netflix, so there went any hopes of productivity out the window for a week or two. I’ve been binge watching GG too and let me just tell you, after Rory graduates, shit gets real! Don’t worry about packing. I sat aside 2 days to pack before my move back to Texas and it was honestly all I needed.

I would love to know what your thoughts are on not living together. The hubby and I didn’t live together before we were married and we were both totally ok with it. That’s how we both wanted it.

Also, binge watching Gilmore Girls sounds like a perfect way to pass time when you should be doing something else (totally agree on the Grandma). Packing is seriously the worst and I don’t blame you one bit for avoiding. I’d wait until the morning of, it’ll get done quicker…probably. :)

We are supposed to be moving next weekend and I haven’t packed a single thing. I mean we don’t have to be out of here until the 30th but we are moving the big stuff on the 20th so I think I need to get packing…. I HATE packing!
I think packing is my least favourite activity. I literally loathe every week when I have to pack up my stuff to go to Tyler’s, and that’s usually for a max of two nights hahah. I’ve learned that I simply cannot let myself put the tv on “in the background” because I’m 2 and can’t handle the visual distraction. Now I listen to audiobooks or podcasts so I have no excuses for just sitting on my bed staring at the tv for “just a minute”. Also side note, your stickies are so cute!! And YES to that hairstyle.

I basically do everything imaginable to not pack and then a day before the moving truck comes I call all my friends and my mom and they whip my butt into gear (or join me on the couch watching movies while boxes pile up around us).
Props to the two of you for holding off on living together, if I had been fortunate enough to live in the same country as Ben I am sure we wouldn’t have rushed moving in together.
