April 21, 2014Happy Monday everyone. First off I’m not going to get all pageant girl style speech on all of y’all but I just wanted to thank everyone for making my first link up so baller. Not only did you guys not leave me standing on the steps waiting for you to pick me up to the prom but you tweeted, shouted out and gave me the sweetest intros ever. I’m really not going to lie I felt like this all day on Friday.

For everyone who celebrated I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. We went down to my parents house where I proceeded to eat lots of food and devour too many Reese’s Peanut butter eggs….like honestly I lost track. Mark commented on my wrappings in the trash can….listen don’t hate. Do you still get an Easter basket??? My mother….if you’ll remember from this post is pretty much Martha Stewart minus the jail time. She had our baskets waiting upon arrival. I mean honestly how stinkin cute it she??? Little Easter Photo Montage for you (had to include the creepy Easter Bunnies for you….the Carolers have been replaced).
I was also beyond pumped to go home because I was itching to use the new lens that I got! Mark got me the Canon Rebel T4i two Christmases ago and it was the 2 lens kit bundle that was from Costco. Honestly the standard kit lens I felt like I could never get professional enough looking pictures and the other lens that came with it is a zoom lens and I swear it added 5 pounds onto the camera.
I did a lot of research between the 1.4 lens and the 1.8. I finally decided on the 1.8 mainly due to cost and the fact let’s face it I’m a blogger and not a wedding photographer. After pricing everything out one guess who had it the cheapest? If you said Amazon you are correct (I mean it was a pretty easy guess right from my track record?) Here is the link Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens if you are interested. It came two days later and I am beyond excited. The close up ability of the lens is amazing and the blurring of the background images with the lower f stop is freaking crazy good. The lens is super light as well. I was out playing around with my dads award winning orchids (he’ll tell you all about them) but I got a few glory shots to really show you how great the lens is. It does a really nice job with that lower f stop blurring the background like in this example.

So let me fill you guys in on a little secret. I was embarrassed to tell you all along buuuht I’ve been modeling since a young age. I didn’t want to brag or anything but let me show you some of my earlier work.
As you can clearly see I was working those sunglasses. I also dabbled in bathing suit prints.
All kidding aside I couldn’t wait to start playing around with it. I also was so lucky to have the accessibility of my photographer this weekend. Oh who is my photographer you ask? Well he’s quite famous in my eyes. Really he is the only one who has enough patience to deal with me. Okay it’s my dad. He doesn’t roll his eyes when I say “wait one more let me position my leg differently, oh wait let me move this way my arm looks weird in this one”. I get one iPhone pic a week from Mark and that is his limit. Happy Easter!

Those pictures of when you were little are way too cute! I LOVE the white dress and the maxi dress you wore! I can’t wait to see your post tomorrow! I made my husband take our peanut butter eggs to work with him because he doesn’t eat them and I couldn’t practice any self control with them! haha So I feel your pain!

Yes! I have the 1.8 lens for my T3i and I LOVE it. So simple and a great price if it does every break you can buy a second one and still be cheaper than the 1.4. Happy Monday!

I love the dress you wore on easter! I don’t know if I care much for the crochet look for me but you look absolutely amazing. I have been extremely drawn to anything floral this year (and last year… and the year before that…) so I think that’ll be my main focus when I go shopping. That and bright colors because duh, tis the season!

That outfit photo looks fantastic, props to you and your Dad! I think I’ve decided to get myself a T3i for my birthday. A 50 mm lens will definitely be part of the purchase, it seems like it’s the cheapest option for what I’m looking for. I’m sure my wallet will shed some serious tears but I couldn’t be more excited!
